bearmatt
Just mouth-watering... And 7 of these beauties... (would probably take me seven years to build all of them!) Hobby Boss seems to be a good alternative to the Hasegawa Kit? It sure does look good! Cheers Benoît

sandros
Exeptional build. Very clean work that completely transformed the HB kit. As a Hasegawa fan this kit never drew my attention. But i will certainly give it a try!
Squibby
Amazing work, I said it in your WIP thread and I'll say it here, the weathering on display is just top notch with a subtle build-up of realistic effects. Nothing looks out of place there. Also great work on the pilots and the helmets! 1
Grey Beema
That is really nice, great modelling and great finishing.. Back in the day I did a bit of a study on Sundowners from VF11 through to VF111 and dis-establishment. I also started to build a series of VF11 & VF111 aircraft in 1/72. Wildcat, Hellcat, Bearcat, Panther Couger, Tiger, Crusader, Phantom and Tomcat unfortunately all gone now.... Anyway great theme, great models - thank you..
Booty003
Well Tony, I am almost lost for words on just how good that is. If that was sitting on an actual carrier deck you would be none the wiser, absolutely flawless, eye porn of the highest order!! Absolutely love what you have done with the pilots and the details for the ordnance panels - fantastic stuff. 100% correct decision to change the paint shade as well. Thanks for taking the time to upload so many photos too. Phil
djos
You made a masterpiece. In 1/72 almost unbelievable level of details. Not to mention weathering..hard to achieve-ably in greater scales.....simply fantastic work Best regards Djordje
Vultures1
Another stunner from your HB Tomcat production line, Tony. The weathering is fantastic and the detail painting on the crew helmets is a great touch. The line-up of different schemes is great too. Looking forward to the next addition!

Cheers Benoît Wow thanks so much guys, I'm a bit taken aback by all the positive comments! Didn't think it would go down this well because its a boring drab scheme with no colour... I am very happy with this one but the photos (same for most of my RFI's) could be better as only done with an iPhone. Some in this thread looked stretched to me when I saw them on a computer monitor earlier. Seem more in proportion when viewed on an i-device type thing. I am going round to a mate's in a couple weekends to use his set up for better pics. I will be taking this bird and a few others @bearmatt and @sandros these hobbyboss cats are quite an easy build, only need a few basic tweaks as per my mod list if you can live without the hasegawa upgrade parts and extra AM resin. Give one a go! Cheers, Tony

Ok I will see what I can do. Will chat to him and confirm size of booth. But I suppose if its a nice day then a pic could be taken outside I suppose because its a proper camera. Transportation of them all to his place may prove challenging however...
modelling minion
Superb Tony, just superb! Can't beat a Sundowner's Tomcat.
Mr.Happy
Tony, You made the hard but right choice of stripping that model and going with the Mr. Color 338👍 I like the subtle weathering you employed on this cat 😎 The family "Cat Den" picture was a nice comparison too. Also would like to applaud you on your fastidious research on the 1980's transitional phase concerning the Winders & Sparrows 👏 Very nice job all the way around✅ Cheers, Mr.Happy(In name only)
kapam
Well, there you go! Just when I started to think I was a half-decent modeller, along comes this family of Tomcats!! Simply awesome. Absolutely love the crew and the subtle rendering of their faces. Top notch.

Thanks pal, can't take much credit though. Probably because the faces are so crisply cast - they were painted akan beige and then given a brown wash. Thats it! NontasB
Excellent work Tony!! Very very nice Tomcat and realistic painting at the exhausts!! Regards, Nontas
