just checked and seems the kit sitting unbrought in my LHS i was considering for this was first tooled in 82, disappointing, though there is the aceint beaufighter/bf109g dogfight set, which not worth my time. However there is plenty out there that do some I may well vote for this

Just out of curiosity what kit was it? Should I put your name down on our list?

That is a shame, it may well even have been designed before Airfix bit the dust in 1981. The old Mosquito is a nice kit though, I built two of them earlier this year.

Id like to join up if possible please? When did Airfix start their 1/48 scale series? Bf109F. Spitfire Vb and Hurricane? I guess it was around 1979?

Pretty sure it was late seventies that those kits came out. You can double check to be sure on scalemates.

Name added. Thanks for joining.

Yeo, though actually now I mention theres quite a few others that come to mind, the b29 I that I foolishly tried to build as a kid after getting the double edition with the b24 in woolworths 12 years ago, ended up in the bin after losing interest, part of me wants to know how the rest of the build goes, though the rest knows better with the silver finish and the rivets liable to be lost to sanding

Great, name added. I shall have a think about going to the Wallop show also.

Thanks old thumper,

hopefully I can find a Bv-141, always wanted to build one when I was a kid.

Sounds good. There should be plenty of those around, the BV-141 was in the Airfix catalogue quite recently,  I picked one up at the Modelzone closing down sale for about £2.

Hey - You know you should - so is that 'yes'

Remember - 'vintage' is the new black - very 'on trend' ;)

I guess it must be even though my track record at finishing group builds is somewhat worse than abysmal.

Brilliant news!!!  Old Thumper will have to add you to the list.  Even better news about your track record - I guess I won't feel so bad if I fail - in such esteemed company ;)

Morning Everyone,

The voting is now open for group builds for 2018 - so far we are 'winning' with 9.25% of the vote - please point your browser in this direction and get voting - if you haven't already ;)

To be honest I didn't expect that at any point we would be ahead in the vote. Even so it is early days and we are far from the finishing line.

Just a reminder the Matchbox Group Build is currently in progress and will be open until mid January.

Time for you guys to start knocking on the doors of all those prospective voters that pledged support - but don't actually follow this thread.  ;)

Good luck to You / Ventora / Lawzer and all of us that fancy some vintage kit bashing :D
