Caerbannog
I had to dig deep to find the box in my basement, but I succeeded. In fact I am quite pleased with the result: The only downside is, that the gel does only adhear soso to the bare plastic. Masking will be firghtening and it is not very scratch resistant, so care should be taken when handling. Next time I would try some primer first - maybe Future will do the trick. As said above I used a broad stiff brush and acrylic gel from the artist supply - just to let you know which: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Marabu-120350102-100ml-Acrylic-Paints-Transparent/dp/B00VBGU3GI/ref=sr_1_6?ie=UTF8&qid=1534406956&sr=8-6&keywords=marabu+gel René

Appreciate you digging that out .. perhaps it might stay out as a revived WIP thread?? 😉
Marklo
Lovely work. Your remarkable jig has even inspired to make this:-- Toi set the dihedral on my Pup correctly (it's functional but not in the same leage as yours)
greggles.w
Very nice Marklo, functional is all it need be really! I find it’s a liberating side task (procrastination?) to throw together these things without the concern of a final finish. Your model looks substantial- is it 1/32? Marklo
Quote Your model looks substantial- is it 1/32? 1:48, my new scale of choice, it's about 150mm x 100, the Jig is from an A4 sheet, hence the overall size.
seadog
Just, very belatedly came across your build, did you ever finish it. I'm seriously impressed by the work you'd done so far! I've just started an old Testors kit of the R3C-2, but I don't think I can face getting into that sort of detail these days, but it's always worth bearing in mind what can be done! Cheers, F
greggles.w
Well, blowing the dust off this one, if only to share a happy find: first time seen available in over 5yrs, and secured with bid overnight: .. so will all my work in this thread to date be in vain? I think not. I reckon I’ll still use my floats. This at least will provide me with the missing decals. Otherwise the principle opportunity will be a ready-to-go upper wing, complete with surface radiators & header tank. I could even fill my aborted, half-baked scribing on current kit upper wing & salvage that for a return to its original intent of CR-1. All to be confirmed when arrives in the post ….
