Spot of the Day Part 2

Recommended Posts

Today I want to share another vehicle not seen very often.

It is a 1967 Mercury Cougar, of course it requires a lot of work but the owner wants to keep it because it was his fathers present.

Have a nice week.

Of course it will require some cleaning, polishing and some restaruation!

Isn´t this a beatifull toy?

Great day!

A '67 Cougar is a lovely thing to behold.

Another of my favourites.

Of course it's a Mustang underneath, but that's not a bad thing.

The toy car could be by Lionel?

I also like the metal car models you posted in the other thread.

Pete, the toy car is a Schucco from Germany, it is a vintage toy! I like it very much.

The metal cars on the other thread are from America, do not know if there are any manufactured in Europe. I will keep posting my progress on them.

Regards.

You can just see the Mustang trying to get out.

Saw this Police Porsche GT4 in Norwich today

With what I think was a white one of these directly behind it

Being Norfolk, I am not sure why they need these to nick the horse & cart gangsta's but we live in an odd world.

To bring out the inner hoon ...

Our Highway Patrol has used Ford Falcons and Holden Commodores as pursuit cars for years, but since both Ford and GM ceased production in Australia nether vehicle is available any longer. There are still lots of Foulcans and Dunnydoors around in HWP markings, but eventually they will have to be replaced. At one stage there was talk of them getting Chrysler 300s (think blancmange suspended on marshmallows ...) but now it seems that they're getting BMW M5s. We taxpayers are such a generous lot ...

I have a mate back home who used to have one of those and had put a 1275 Cooper S motor in it, upgraded the brakes and suspension and put 12'' Minilites on it. Sage green with a white roof and a fantastic little car, loads of fun.

In Morley (Leeds) yesterday was a bright yellow right hand drive Ford Mustang GT. 5 ltr. Was a real beast!

Regards.

Visiting daughter and family  in Hampshire again this weekend, and yesterday parked next to a new generation dark grey Mustang in the Travelodge car park. If the 427 graphics on the side were to be believed, that was a 7 litre....!!

In a petrol station in Camberley today, a lovely dark blue E type hardtop on minilites - gorgeous!

Lovely, real engines in real cars and it makes a nice change for a 427 to be in a Mustang instead of a Cobra replica....

A delivery trip to London today, ended up getting stuck in a Northbound jam on the M1

But I also spotted two oldies on trailers, both M1 southbound.

A Mk 2 Escort in American taxi yellow.

An Austin A55 pick up in turquoise.

Garage near me has a bright blue Mini Clubman traveller is spotless condition

Also saw a Peugeot van today covered in brown fur with a black dog's tail on the roof. You would have thought at least he would have used a Rover......

On the Elland Road Interchange yesterday was a rather large bright red Ferrari. Did some googling and it was a Ferrari FF. Don't generally like Ferrari's but this was rather nice!

Tend to see a fair few Tesla's down that way too.

Regards,

Steve

All this talk of Minilites.

On Tuesday at the Humber bridge roundabout I saw a

very clean dark blue late model XJ6/Sovereign on alloys

that looked rather like Minilites complete with low profile tyres.

I think you're the first person I've come across (apart from myself) who likes the FF. Must be a Yorkshire thing (I'm in exile down here). There used to be a lovely black one around these parts, but it seems to have been sold on now.

As for my sightings of the day, it was a supermini day today and both in strangely mint condition - a G-reg Nova and N-reg Rover 100/Metro. I prefer to try to forget the K-reg Volvo 440...
