I'm going to be doing this OOB but probably not following the instructions.

Comments and suggestions welcome.

Good luck to anyone else taking part!

Kind regards,

Early bird builds a tank quick... yeh, that's definitely the saying.

Morning Simon - yes that's the one!

Good choice there Stix. Good luck and fair winds to you too. Instructions? I too fart in their general direction.

Thanks SleeperService and hope so - there's more seam lines and flash than I'd hoped for but nothing some effort cannot deal with :fight:

First update - first I got some thinned Revell Anthracite on the tracks and the lower hull tub is together:

Although some areas of this kit are obviously 'snap fit' I am using glue.

Comments and suggestions welcome.

Kind regards,

This kit looks quite fun Stix; the person at Meng that had this idea is the sort I'd like to go for a beer with :D!

Great progress; watching and cheering along

Morning Stix. Looks a great little kit. Have been tempted a few times to part with some cash.

Will admit that I was still tucked up in bed when you started. Good luck.

Good morning to you too HB! This kit range is interesting and , at £6.99 for this one, quite good value.

I think most sensible people were in bed when I started!!

Some update photos - first off I decided to drill out the end of the machine gun:

I've now got some paint sprayed on from a Rattlecan - Humbrol's Olive Drab:

Some parts glued to the front of the upper hull:

Tracks drybrushed with Humbrol's Gunmetal:

A year ago I was flying at this point too. Then Mr Humbrol turned evil on me. I hope yours goes better.

Thank you - it seems to be dry okay so far!

Looking good! I wouldn't mind ALL the tank kits cutting down on numbers of roadwheels, I just hate painting them... V-P

Thank you V-P. I'd say these Toon kits are definitely right for you then!

Hover tanks! They're the way forward I tell you! :) I don't think any of us enjoys the tedious bits of our preferred passions.

Looking good there Stix. I'm munching in about 90 seconds.

Option 1 is you have a very small phone

Option 2 that's what I'd like my sandwiches to look like too!

Option 1 small phone :(

I agree though the sandwich does look big in that photo!

Yeah the wheels on tanks can be a bit dull to do.

Hope you are having a good lunch.

Right - I think this is where I'm going to stop for the day:

I've got the washes and dry-brushing done on the lower hull stuff, some paint on the tools and the wheel units assembled. Been great fun so far. More tomorrow.

Thank you Simon,

Quick photo of where I left it last night and then I'm getting underway - already finished my Rice Krispies, Marmite sarnies and got a mug of tea to hand.

Targeted Anthracite wash around the detail applied and then some drybrushing with a lightened version of the base coat - the latter includes a little Yellow and Army Green to get a better looking lighter colour:
