harveyb258
Hello everyone. Time again for an update on the proceedings. The pulleys were relatively straightforward to fabricate. After turning a couple of grooves into some 3mm ali tube, I inserted and glued some 2mm brass tube and then cut to size. The casing and attachment brackets are fab'd from tin-plate steel and soldered. Finally, a 1mm brass rod (piened) holds it all together. The pulley wheels spin freely. Once the pulleys were bolted in place (M0,6), I could finally fit the axle...and boy, oh boy, what a fiddly and frustrating task it was, too. Inevitably, some paintwork became damaged, as you can see, but, I'm not overly concerned at this stage. Well, that's all for now, folks!! I hope you enjoy and thanks for watching. Cheers, H The next step will be to strip the rear end to repair and re-paint the rear axle. Then, wheel and tyre fabrication time...I can't wait!

Codger
From the Complaint Department: I thought we agreed a while back 'No Paint'. Unless I missed something. Although the finishes are distressed and lovely I was under the impression that all parts would be in their natural material finish. Like artwork. But --- Oh Heck! Ignore me ... this thing is magnificent even if it was pink. Carry on -- Mr H....
harveyb258
Thanks Chas. 24 minutes ago, Codger said: 'No Paint'. Unless I missed something. Apart from the wheels, that's the last paint to be used on this car. Only the running-gear was painted on the test car. 1

PROPELLER
Harvey, a pulley with a late is easy to made. Without, it's a feat! Congrats, but you need a lathe my dear... I use an UNIMAT 3, you can got one, it's really cheap! Be careful! Your radiator leaks: Dan.
Endeavor
"The pulleys were relatively straightforward to fabricate." Not for us mere mortals. Just wonderful.
CrazyCrank
Harvey, if you don't own a lathe, it's possible for some of us, me for instance, to fabricate pulleys for you, if you want....🤔

I just need to clear some space in my man cave to set it up and bolt it firmly in place. I'm looking forward to getting stuck-in. Stay tuned. harveyb258
Hello all. Not much of an update, this time, chaps..... more of a back-date really After quite a bit of faffing around, the remedial works to the rear axle have been completed : all new/stronger spring and damper hangers, with the addition of hanger blanks(?) on the frontal section (as per drawings). With the axle repainted and installed, I added the reserve fuel line to the bottom of the tank before its installation (previously forgotten). Then I finally added M0,6 hardware to the flares and secured the floor-pan with M1 hardware. The nut and studs were drilled with a 0,2 bit and wired with 0,1. Slowly, but surely, the to-do list gets shorter, so I'm a happy-chappy!! Thanks for watching, more soon!! Cheers, H
