qn30jEkPz7
I'm just finishing up a model and was perusing the stash deciding what to make next and got to looking in my spares box. Spur of the moment have decided to make something out of the contents of that rather than a proper kit Belly tank and tailplanes from an FGR1 Phantom & oiter wings of a Sea Vixen look likely candidates to start with... Intruder503
If this had just been presented as an RFI for a US Navy prototype, I think most wouldn't have questioned it!! Great fun!!

Great fun!! I might have just about gotten away with it in Sci-Fi claiming it was from a shortlived and obscure 80s manga. The lovechild of a Westland Whirlwind and an F-18 wouldn't look too out of place in a cartoon but I think the CofG change from dropping one of those bombs and the really low centre of thrust would have rumbled me immediately elsewhere. Pete in Lincs
Bonkers and all the better for it. Obviously has the secret Lob'o'matic sidewinder launch system to avoid the props.
stever219
Being truly sad it saddens me to inform you that your fuselage is actually a Phantom FGR. 2 recce pod. Apart from that this is a truly bonkers 1960s comic-strip rebel strike-fighter that should have graced the pages of TV-21 or Eagle (other quality reading matter for pre-teenage boys was available). I wonder where my Sea Vixen-Tornado tailless interceptor concept disappeared to. 1
