Goodmorning and thanks for the kind comments!

LastnightI used some CAglue to fill some gaps in the junction between the wings and the fuselage and sanded them off.

This morning Icheckedthe panellines and junctions with Tamiya panelaccent black liquid and tis is what she lookslike. Somemore CA glue here and there, but it'squite right.Soon Rosie the riveter willbe needed for the wings.

Here a couple of pictures.

Misread that the first time Massimo and spent a moment or two pondering what kind of miraculous Cinquecento fluid had been passed down from father to son as a family recipe.

Then saw the 'Tamiya' before it and was quite gravely disappointed.

But those surfaces and joints look so fantastically good, your are forgiven my son. Go in peace.

Looking great for a preshading I guess. Cheers

More than a preshading, I use it to see if the panel lines are fine or I need to rescribe something.

Last night  I worked on the Airfix kit to bring it to the same lavel as the Revell one. This will be depicted with flaps and slats fully out, thus I had to use a different procedure. The H-shaped flaps' guides, which are hidden on takeoff configuration, can be seen when the flaps are fully out. I cut some bits of styrene after having filed them to get a bowed shapefor the bottomand I glued some strip bits at their top. Imade them slightlylonger ,to be cut at the right lngth once they've dried.

Once dried, I shortened them and glued the inner flaps.I let them dry overnight against a drill box to get the right angle and this morning...

... the angle was wrong!!!:banghead:

I corrected the angle using Tamiya green cap glue tosoften things and another template.

I also glued the outerflaps (...or whaever their name is!!!) and then Iglued the wingsection to the fuselage.

I made smaller bits of guides and glued them to the Revell kit's wings.

This is what they look like now.

And here below a comparison between the two from different angles, Airfix first:

Great work on the flaps!

Paragon once had a set for the Jag, but I assume only for on position...

I think they're the ones I've got, but they had been filed down by my friend who gave me the Airfix kit and , having to scratch-build the flaps for one kit, I decided to go for two sets.

That's what I call fun!!!:banghead:

I'm not an expert on the Jaguar, but normally the ailerons (the outboard portion of the wing controls) work opposite each other. They control the roll, so if one is down, the other is up. I know there are some types that drooped the ailerons when the flaps were down but they still worked in basically the same way and had a difference in deflection from one side to the other to control the roll.

No ailerons on the Jag, roll is controlled by a mix of spoilers and differential tailplane movements only. Those are outboard flaps.

Excellent stuff, always nice to see a Jaguar being built, have been following this!

I have browsed the pics, and hope you don't mind if I make a couple of suggestions, (I may of missed the relevant pics, so apologies if I have highlighted something that you have already added). This pic below which I took at RAF Coltishall shows the underside, and it shows the two cannon bulges on the underside of the access doors (one on each door) just in front of the undercarriage bays. Not sure if they have been added to your model?  The GR1/3 and also the T2/4 all had both of these bulges on the access doors, even though, incidentally, the T2/4's only had one cannon, on the port side. The pic below actually shows a T4.

This shows the cannon bulges added to the underside of my Airfix 1/48 T4.

It may also be worthwhile modifying the intakes. I had sprayed mine and also applied the decals and very, VERY nearly missed the shape of the intakes! In the kit they are very 'square' in shape from the head-on view, but in truth they have rounded external and internal corners, and will need changing from the kit shapes. The pic below shows mine all sprayed up, but shows that I just noticed the intake shapes in time, before final assembly. The starboard intake on the model is shown being modified, with some of the paint sanded away during re-shaping.

Also, to save me having to re-scribe the tiny 'piano hinge' pivots on the auxiliary intake doors on the sides of the main intakes, I had some decals printed, which made life a little easier. They are on these small sheets below, printed with the 41 Sq emblem.

Good morning mates and Happy New year!

It’s been 3 years since I last posted an update on this topic, but during the lockdown I concentrated on the Ark Royal last commission build and after that I started some more projects, but without any real convinction.

During my Christmas Holidays I felt the need to go back to modelling , but didn’t want to start anything new, having so many old projects left aside, so I did some work on the Canberra tail, but finally decided it was time to finish the Jaguars, which had been left aside as a lack of mojo had prevented me from finishing the main wheels bays.

After so much time, I had forgotten everything about Jaguars, so I started with something easy: the pitots by Master, for which I didn’t need a long research…they hat to be fitted to the front!!!

I then added the pylons to the wings of the

After a bath in Future, the windscreen was glued to the fuselage.

I Purchased a 10 mm Ø rod which I’d use as a pedestal to attach the Revell kit to the wooden base and used a bit of it to replace the front camera glass supplied with the kit, which I wasn’t happy with. Grinding, filing and polishing followed and the glass effect was far better than the kit offering.

Mirrors and handles were added to the canopy, which was then glued to the fuselage.

I drilled a hole under the fuselage and glued the plastic rod . Then I drilled another hole on a wooden base and the pedestal was done. It isn’t fixed yet, but it holds the model.

Then I cut some bits of plastic strip to add some detail to the bottom of the flaps and slats’ hinges.

After this I got back to work with the main wheel bay and added  piping and electrical cables and boxes. It took some time , but at the end I got both models made.

One thing though: I don't know if it's only me, but I can only see the link to your pics; I need to click on it to see them, they are not showing up in your post automatically...

Excellent detail job, as ever!
