Ratch
My next batch of Napoleonics will form the 2nd Battalion, 3rd Regiment of Foot Guards. It's a mixture of Esci, Italeri, Airfix, Revell and HäT figures. Most are re-paints/restorations with a few 'new' figures mixed in for variety.

Ratch
Next onto the conveyor belt come a set of Airfix French Foot Artillery. Some of the figures had flash on them. I removed the flash using a hot soldering iron. To bring the strength up to an even nine figures for each gun, I added a drummer from the Airfix 01744 set and a Marshall from the Italeri 6016 set. The batteries I chose to represent each consist of 8 guns, so I cut three, 8cm triangles from 4mm hardboard and painted them with Daler – Rowney Graduate Acrylic 247 Raw Umber mixed with 375 Sap Green.
Ratch
Today I've had the airbrush out so the skin tones were airbrushed, mixing the pallet of four tones as work progressed. The horses were sprayed in the same manner using five colours. I mixed gold and rust for the 4 pounders and then sprayed the gun carriages and limbers with green.

Ratch
To the Frenchies I have added one of each pose from the HäT Napoleonic French Command set and Italeri's 6016 French Imperial General Staff. Among the 6016 set are five Chasseurs à cheval. I also have just six figures from the Revell 02576 Napoleonic French Mounted Guard Chasseurs 1800 - 1815 (quite where the remainder of the set are is a mystery). These will be painted all together, and I hope to acquire two more 02576 sets.
