Sgt.Squarehead
Looking sweet.....Watch out for the ultra fine flash on the figure in the middle's weapon, that stuff's the worst feature of vinyl figures isn't it!

Ratch
Today I hit a bit of trouble with Revell Aqua 36 364 Silk Leaf Green DSC_0003 by Richard Linnell, on Flickr it was thick in the pot, so I added some of Revell's own thinner and a couple of drops of Winsor & Newton Acrylic Flow Improver DSC_0004 by Richard Linnell, on Flickr it quickly turned into a gloopy, unusable mess Into the bin it went, and I reverted to Humbrol 80 for the bases

Ratch
I thought I'd paint these French Fusiliers next DSC_0005 by Richard Linnell, on Flickr and then I thought, while I'm on them I may as well paint the other set I have, plus the HaT Fusiliers too DSC_0006 by Richard Linnell, on Flickr
Ratch
Then I ran into a problem. The figures moulded in grey plastic are paint-repellentDSC_0003 by Richard Linnell, on Flickr Even airbrushing doesn't guarantee coverageDSC_0004 by Richard Linnell, on Flickr But I have pressed onDSC_0006 by Richard Linnell, on Flickr I've just started on their coatsDSC_0005 by Richard Linnell, on Flickr
Sgt.Squarehead
Aiieee.....The curse of the non-stick vinyl! Looks like you've overcome the issue with your customary aplomb.
Ratch
Cheers Andy, it must be the plastic 'cause only the grey ones had that effect

Ratch
I understand that during bad weather Napoleonic armies covered their shakos with an oilskin. Given that most armies identified the companies by different coloured plumes, were these still worn outside the oilskin or were they stored in the pack until the weather improved? Silver Fox
Great work Ratch and I see you have a copy of Uniforms of Waterloo. First published in 1976 and still one of the best guides to every type of troop that fought there.

Ratch
I have almost two sets of these Italeri French Infantry (set 6002) already painted. The uniforms are a right mish-mash, not right for any troops of any regiment in particular at any time, but I'm prepared to utilise whatever I have rather than waste them. Therefore a small batch have been retouched to represent voltigeurs of the Light Infantry for use some time in the future, secretively mixed in with more fitting figures.

Ratch
This time I cut the sabres off the troops (except for the officers) to portray them as the 1er and 2e Batallions, 1er Régiment de Tirailleurs

Will Vale
Good lord that's an amazing collection. They look nice individually (those stripey breeks!) but en masse they're something else again. Will

Ratch
I came across this set of Italeri British & Prussian Allied General Staff (6065) today. I know I already have a set painted up but cannot locate them at this time, so what the heck, there aren't too many figures, let's get on with them. I got them in a job-lot of unpainted figures. DSC_0004 by Richard Linnell, on Flickr DSC_0005 by Richard Linnell, on Flickr I only really want the staff officers at this time. I have more than enough Scots Greys and PSR says the Prussian lower orders are incorrectly dressed for Waterloo, but I will paint them up as the set. I'll only be mounting a select few though.
