Modern US Aircraft Carrier in 1/700 or 1/720 ?

Hi,

Could anybody recommend a modern US aircraft carrier in 1/700 or 1/720 please ?

I've never built a ship/carrier before so I haven't got a clue which kit to go for.
The ones I've seen so far don't seem to have much detail.

Any recomendations would be much appreciated

Depends a little on how involved you want to get. For sheer quality and detail, the Trumpeter Nimitz-class kits are hard to beat.

However, if you've never built one before, I might suggest going with something simpler. The older Italeri 1/720 kits are less detailed (and less accurate, to be sure)---but still great fun and a great way to 'learn the ropes.' They can always be dressed up with extra planes and aftermarket stuff to suit---but are far less punishing to the wallet for an 'initial plunge.'
