You really are flying through them at an alarming rate.... can you squeeze in 4 mk vb’s, vc and a mk ix? Asking for a friend Thanks. I'm MkV'd out at the moment so I'm going to do some Griffin Spits.

Progress has been slow recently but both the XIV and XVI are nearly done. The XIX/ XI conversion is coming along so I thought I'd start another: Thanks for looking.

This thread won't help you Ced, it's all over the place... I should've built the kits in mark-order. The 21 had a two-stage Griffon with the new - very un-Spitfirelike - wing. 91 squadron were the first to receive them and only squadron, as far as I'm aware, to use them in WW2. Anyway, here are some sprue shots. (Note the 22 fuselage.) (21 fuselage and resin tailplanes, plus a bit of etch for the seatbelts.) I'll be doing a 91 Squadron plane and think that the codes will come from a Ventura sheet as I'm not sure about the colour of the ones AZ supply. If I can get another 21, I'll do the High-speed Silver RauxAF plane. This kit is clearly short-run, heavy sprue gates and some flash And short-shot... An initial test-fit suggests that the fuselage and wings fit together fairly well. I'm about the make a start with some cutting, gluing, and painting. Thanks for looking.

It's a relatively easy conversion, if you don't: 1) cut too much of the plastic away 2) break the resin rudder On 2/23/2019 at 7:36 PM, bigbadbadge said: Looking good Simon. Beard
The XVI has had a matt coat and the XIV a poster paint wash. Meanwhile, the 21 is ready for paint: The more observant among you will notice I didn't use the resin tailplanes, I used spare Eduard ones. The XI is nearly ready for painting: I had to use an AZ rudder because I broke the Freightdog one. The Freightdog radiators require the modeller to remove some plastic, here you can see I've made a start. Thanks for looking. 7

Beard
The XIV is finished (I'll post some photographs later) and the XVI is very nearly done. Here's where I am with the XI and 21. The XI is ready for a gloss coat before its' transfers: The 21 has had a coat of Colourcoats Medium Sea Grey on the underside and a coat of Colourcoats Ocean Grey on the uppersurfaces: Meanwhile, in a break from Spitfires, I'm building a Revel Corsair. Thanks for looking.

Got the FAA boxing, squared-off wingtips on a new sprue. 'Proper' grey plastic this time which is good although the multi-part wing doesn't get any easier to assemble! Would love to see your Corsair, I'm keen to try the Revell one too. Steve. Thanks Steve. The Revel Corsair looks like a Corsair (to me anyway) but, like their Hurricane II, suffers from having an over-complicated breakdown - in its case the fuselage rather than the Hurricane's wing - I'd probably build another because they're so cheap and go together fairly well. I might post a photograph of it at some point but this is a thread about Spitfires. 15 hours ago, Cookenbacher said: Oooh, I really like the XI conversion Simon, and what a cool scheme. Thanks Cookie. I haven't done a very good job of it but it's relatively easy to do (for some-one with more modelling skills than me). I haven't managed to find a photograph of the scheme and that worries me a little.
