Plasto
Nice I'd like to build one of these Hase K4's but I cannot find a kit... Is the Hase fuselage dedicated to the K4 or is is a mix and match job of panels like the fujimi one I'm working on...
fewr9fkr9595
Yeah it seems to be that way. They have an early g fuselage for their g2-6 kits then these sprues are marked as g10-k4.

fewr9fkr9595
Well thought I best get on with these, they are commission builds after all. Nothing since july and then the past two weeks been all about these.... Overview of AM bits. Schemes will be - White 2 (mission models paint) and Black 700 (xtracrylix) Cockpits were done fairly simple as canopies will be closed. Mixed dark grey stynylrez, a wash and drybrush then some superfabric belts. Scribing bits and bobs. Some etch bits used too from an eduard set, exhaust shields, wheel well bits, cockpit bulkhead, fug 16 etc. Spot priming with dark grey - checking seams and painting cockpit sill concurrently. Full prime including all bits and bobs with black: Camo tonight!
fewr9fkr9595
Clothes on! Plus found a way to get xtracrylix to behave well enough for free hand work - AK nitro thinner. Sprayed through an 0.35mm iwata neo. Their RLM81 is quite strong, and the 83 dark green really is dark. Had to lighten it a touch as hardly any contrast with the 81. Black 700 Next is the mission. Water based paint that behaves like a lacquer when sprayed through a 0.2 mm ie fine detail without tipdry. Love it. The RLM 81 is a more olive drab style, and the dark green is more ‘medium’. White 2 Great paint. @Duncan B you need push to sell more of this great paint. Really easy to use and no smell. Thats all for now.
fewr9fkr9595
Update - Glossed, Decals on and then sealed. Quite pleased with the overall look of them, match the sheets ok with the camo & marking placements. Only had to go back over and fill in a little at the bottom of the left fuselage cross on 700. Used some post it notes to mask on the unsealed decal. Also nose spirals were horrible as they are the wide type. Wouldn’t conform easily - had to get the daco red setting solution on them. Then once dry some sanding of the wrinkles with 4000 grit cloth and then touched in with some white paint. They have smoothed out blended now with the gloss coat on top of them. Sharp eyed dudes will notice by the props a mast for white 2 - I forgot to do it earlier on in the week, so that was sprayed with some mission 81 and then glossed too when the decals were sealed for finish continuity. Now for some waffle: Something of interest - colour swatch and contrast testing pre paint job. The customer wanted a more olive drab type 81 for this pair rather than the browner variation that can be seen on late 109’s. I went through the stash of my paints I’ve not tried out yet with late luftwaffe schemes. The hataka 81 is quite brown and reddish so hence why these builds are in mission and xtra. I put the 82 & 83’s next to the 81 and each other to get a feel for how they might turn out. Of interest - the 82 hellgrun by mission is darker than their 83 dark green. Go figure! So white two is wearing mission paints 81 and 82 to represent the 81 and dark green scheme. Note all the paints look quite dark against the white card. Compare the misson 82 below to how bright it looks on white 2. Also the mission 81 in isolation is quite green and when I sprayed that first on the model I thought it was too green aswell. It was only once the 82 was added it then allowed the brownish tinge of the 81 to stand out more. All down to contrast and perception etc. Panel line washes next.
fewr9fkr9595
Update - Washes done! 2 had the grey filter used as a wash on the undersides, then green brown and deep brown on the 82 & 81 respectively. 700 had some darker tones used as the xtra shades aren’t as light as the mission ones. It had blue grey on the lowers then deep brown on both upper colours. Interior wash used on the various rlm 02 parts like bays and u/c legs etc and also some deep grey here and there to add depth in certain areas like hinge lines. Then they were sealed. Keeping with the paint themes/manufactures- Xtracrylix flat for 700 A mix of mission flat with a touch of their semi just to keep a bit of sheen for white 2. Some pics in the daylight: Last few bits being done - Barrels drilled out with a fresh 11 blade, primed in black stynylrez - they will have some gunmetal dry brushing later. Also gun sights were cleaned up as they are quite crude and have a large seam all the way around them. The rear glass was removed - this will be replaced with some acetate. Again done in black then will be highlighted and detailed with the little pad picked out etc. Thanks for looking.
fewr9fkr9595
Props being assembled. Exhausts going in - They had black primer, burnt iron paint, black wash then a steel drybrush. The etch shrouds are worth the effort I reckon as they look in scale. Some airbrushed staining tomorrow. I also painted some little black bits on the front of the two small intakes either side of the nose to make them appear hollow. White 2 - Black 700 - Thanks for looking.
fewr9fkr9595
Massive jump as these were completed a couple weeks back, postimage stopped me from being able to continue updates for a bit. Anyways: Last bits were done- Wheels and canopies on, some oilbrusher fading, fuel & exhaust stains. Nav lights and then the various wires, antennas, barrels and probes etc. A few pics. When finished they won a silver (2) and bronze (700) at the Darlington sword and lance show. Not bad hey @Parabat Will try and do a proper RFI for both soon. Thanks for looking!
Basilisk
Gosh, old GBs can get rather lonely places. A shame as your builds certainly deserve some more attention. I myself just stumbled onto them. Some great information and interesting regarding the variation in the 80 series RLM colours. As far as I know, the early publications got the numbers mixed up for 82 and 83 and Mission Paint may used this older information? Cheers, Peter

And yeah reckon they did that with the shades as you say. Hataka did a similar thing with their first lot of rlm shades in their red line. The 83 was brighter than the 82. Now with their new orange line the 83 is the darker green. I wonder if new stock of their red line will swap too? Tony
