Mark12
...but with the Grace/Melton low deck conversion at a scale of 1/24th preferred, where would I start? Accuracy and detail would need to be paramount but the cost of the support parts/kits etc would not need to be too much of an issue. Troy Smith
1/24th is do-able, but a lot of work, as there is no 1/24th Spit IX, and the resin conversion is OOP. and the 1/24th Spit option are the old Airfix kit, and the Trumpter, which is IIRC is not good accuracy wise. see here for more in 32nd there is there Tamiya Mk.IX, very highly rated, but I don't know of a 2 seat conversion, others might. The Tamiya is not a cheap kit, but PCM did a 1/32ns IX that's rated as good, and there is now a 1/32 IX from Revell, it has a few issues but it's cheap.. a quick google des not show up any conversions. other will know more, but hopefully this will give you a few pointers HTH T
k5054nz
Unfortunately I can't offer any more info than Troy except that Heritage Aviation Models once made a resin conversion kit to modify the Airfix 1/24 Mk.I to a Mk.IX: https://www.scalemates.com/kits/206213-heritage-aviation-models-spitfire-ix-conversion; http://www.kitsforcash.com/124-heritage-aviation-spitfire-ix-conversion-26608-p.asp Good luck Mark - I doubt anyone on the planet knows more about Spits than you so I know the end result will be accurate!
