Airfix 1/24 Hawker Typhoon rebooted. Panels removed.

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone

I've decided to restart my Hawker Typhoon. I started it a couple of years ago and I don't know why I put it to one side?

It will be built with a few panels removed to get some natural light into that lovely cockpit so I'll have to add some extra detail in the shape of wire, plastic rod and plasticard....

Nice work so far Iain, are the instrument decals the ones out of the kit?

Al

Hey Al

No the instrument decals are from the Airscale set, if you can get them they really do enhance the look of the ip. I finished off the dials by cutting out some clear plasticard with my punch set.

cheers mate

Could I ask a question which is concerning me on my build?

The whole assembly is a bit of a monster and it's going to take Penn & Teller to get it in my spray booth, how did you paint yours?

Also, love the ageing, what's your colour tainting the aluminium?

Cheers

Morning gents

Thank you very much.

That Napier is a good looking lump isn't? It's like rest of the kit looks superb but it requires a lot of clean up, but never mind that's all part of the fun isn't it?

have a good day

I honestly thought that was going be a pain to remove the panels but in fact it was easy. It just needs a little clean up and we're ready to go.

Cheers

Hi Steve

sorry only just just seen this. I assembled as much as I could, put plenty of kitchen roll down and sprayed it with a base coat of black followed by mitheral silver which was followed by an oil wash of raw umber.
