corsaircorp
Hello Dears, I say, very shy, because I think that the dame was afraid to show herself on BM, She has been painted, de-painted and re-painted, The exhaust stacks will not go on their palce (my mistake) Broke an UC leg, and tailwheel (twice) Chemical reaction with the decalstransfer and so on, I was about to think that there was a curse on her since she was almost finished. So I took some photos before anything broke again It is the Eduard Mk VIII Spitfire with old Superscale decals The building has been straightforward, but I did have a bad idea.... Did'nt like the idea to paint the ac with the exhaust stacks on... So I did put a plasticard instead of the 5 parts Eduard's exhaust, thinking that I will glue the exhaust after the painting, seem promisig but ... NO When I did put the exhaust on, they standed proud of about 3mm from the engine cowling.... Next time, I'll put the plasticard more on the Inside of the cowling Well, I use some shhhhhht ICM exhaust on the Eduard Spitfire
Newbie(kinda)
Yep, as you say, that's totally rubbish... ...and also about 10 times better than anything I manage to throw together. EVER!! Well done. I like it a lot. Seriously, the only question I have, is whether the white wing leading edges are a bit too deep but I'll admit, right away, I'm not any kind of expert...
corsaircorp
Here's the WiP I really like WingCo Clive Robertson Caldwell, To me when I saw the Eduard Mk VIII, it was obviously for representing the "Killer" aircraft I really enjoyed the kit, only the last times have been a little bit arduous. Paints are Lifecolor, special RAAF boxing, pretty good one, I think The upper cowling is the Eduard's one, did'nt change it from this angle the decals problem is evident I let loose with the undersides, since the conditions were harsh at best in Morotai I saw that the belly tanks were rarely re-painted and used the way they are. Moreover, it give a bit of contrast, IMHO I used Google earth for having some views of the region of Morotai, the earth seem redish, hence the oïl color used for the weathering. Tomorrow, I'll try some exterior photos and one or two for the Spit's family album Ok, let me know what you think about my shy lady See you tomorrow gents, always a pleasure to share with you. Have a good modelling day. Sincerely. Corsaircorp

Thank for the kind words, I also Wonder about it, but there seem to have no uniformity Some a very deep som others follow the curve of the wing and some other did'nt cover all of the wing leading edge. I take the bet and choosed these one, only for aestethic reasons I must admit. Sincerely. Corsaircorp
Cookenbacher
Beautiful MK VIII, great weathering and the mis-matched external fuel tank is a wonderful detail. What paint did you use for the RAAF Foliage green? 1

Christer A
Hey! That looks quite nice actually! Glad to see that you've finished one! The trick I found about the exhaust is to just secure the top engine cover with some blu-tak and after painting just lift it off and drop the exhausts in place. Worked like a charm on my first Eduard VIII, and I plan do so for the rest of them, even though they'll be using the resin engine cover part...

corsaircorp
Hi Dears, Promises has to be kept, so I took these shots just before the rain and storm, we do have a typically british weather, as it is very oftenly the case The stains on the propeller is not metallics, I really like this one from this angle.. Some more for the Sir R.J. Mitchell's family album And as one can see, the firsts raindrops are there Nice trio, look good to me, I just have to improve my painting skills Ok Gents, I now go for the next RFI, may be a MiG 3 or a P-47N or a Mk IX, don't know yet, dépends of my mood .... The F-94C is not ready nor is the F4U-4 Glad to share with you, I hope that I'm not too boring. Have a very nice modelling day. Sincerely. I did look at some photos of Caldwell's Aircraft but did'nt know this one. Good bet on that one, as I can see, I should have been more expressive on the undersides ... Let's say that she has been cleaned a bit on my rendition... I will paint the tip of the nose in black too seemingly. Thank you again. Sincerely. TonyTiger66
It looks excellent CC . Clive flew three Spitfire Mk. VIII. There's some info here: http://www.pacificspitfires.com/spitfire_profiles.htm Always a lot of discussion on these. If you look closely, you will see Clive and aircraft in this movie of Morotai from the Australian War Memorial, here in Canberra (just around 2km from my home ). https://www.awm.gov.au/collection/C189344?search Try at around 7 minutes 10 if you don't want to watch all of it. I like the whole film. Superb modelling and I agree, the Lifecolor Australian sets are really nice, for brush painting too. Best regards TonyT 1
