Jb65rams
My entry will be Eduard's Weekend Edition 1/48 Mirage IIIC. Won't be starting for a while, as I still have to finish a couple of other ongoing group build entries, a MIG-21R and Mk2 Transit.

Original plan was the NMF finished, but the more I looked at the instructions the more I found myself drawn to the desert scheme of the Djibouti aircraft. Made a start with the cockpit.

I can understand why, they somehow look more rugged in that scheme and it also gives you the scope for some extreme weathering.
PaulT 876
Hi JB Nice start, but sorry to point out Eduard have got there instructions wrong, for a French Mirage IIIc and most other users of the C they used the D type Face blind Handle on the top of the E- seat not the B one that you have done. Its some thing most do, it should be easy to fix. If you need any more info just ask. Paul

Should be able to produce one with some fuse wire.
Jb65rams
Bit of a big update. First up, changes to the ejection seat to change the face blind handle. Fuselage & wings assembled. To ensure a good fit of the wings, I used a scrap piece of plastic strut to build up the mating area, to ensure a flush fit. After a trip to the paint booth, primed with Halfords Plastic primer. Jb65rams
Today's rain gave me a chance to get some more paint on (as opposed to mowing the lawn etc). Still have some overspray to deal with.

Thanks, first attempt at feathered edges using blue-tac sausages. Not perfect but I am happy with the result. Progress continues at a snails pace. Jb65rams
With the deadline looming, progress continues with a half hour here & a half hour there. Decals finished, she has had a coat of Klear and been given a light wash of Flory Models "Grime". Start made adding the under carriage, found them quite fiddly and don't look that strong.
Andrew
Looks lovely, JB; the wash has added some character to the desert scheme (which really suits the Mirage apparently). Hope the undercarriage holds up well.

It does look good. Light matt coat applied. Calling this finished. I am happy with how it has turned out. Just need to finish the standing figure and then I will take some pictures for the gallery.
