Kingsman Posted June 22, 2017 Posted June 22, 2017 Tiger Model have already announced one in 1/35 plastic and Royal Arsenal already do one in 1/72 (resin??). Not bad considering this is currently nothing more than a company technology demonstrator.
junglejim Posted June 24, 2017 Posted June 24, 2017 https://www.scalemates.com/kits/1025652-tiger-model-4629-revolution-i-leopard-ii Not necessarily called Leo 3 yet, just super upgraded Leo 2. Jim
Kingsman Posted June 24, 2017 Posted June 24, 2017 Leo 2 was completely different from Leo 1: completely. Underneath it all, this is still a Leo 2. No new hull. No new suspension. No new powerplant. No new armament. Just new systems and external add-ons. So I don't think it will become Leo 3. Nor do I think it will sell in the same numbers as earlier Leo 2 evolutions even if it makes it to production. The price will be huge, too huge to be risked in actual combat. Possibly as much as €10M. A premium tank for parades, recruiting posters and presidential guards. Something to prove that the Western tank industry is alive and kicking as a counter to T-90MS 1
