Hello Dears,

Some PE work today but I got a problem !

WP_20180609_21_51_19_Pro

I did'nt find the pilot cushion, and it's nowhere to find, part Z2 but there's no Z tree !!

So, let's say that the "Phantom"'s pilot really appreciate comfort !

Saint milliput has helped once again, I Wonder if milliput has a peremption date since mine take years to cure !

More to come soon, 5 more evening on the Bench Hooooray  🤩🤩🤩

Take care Dears and have a funny modelling Sunday !

Sincerely.

Just a few photos showing the deepened bomb bay . . . .

First I cut off the side fuselage edges

26943991447_7a238baaba_z.jpg

Measured the extra 4mm needed to get depth

26943991307_7f3cc5ff98_z.jpg

filed both sides

26943990717_e0d9cf77f5_z.jpg

Re glued the fuselage pieces back in place

26943990517_1ffcce1d30_z.jpg

Shows the extra depth obtained

26943990307_c9423c8d93_z.jpg

Filed the cockpit floor (bomb bay roof)

28858798418_521c3cae04_z.jpg

Being flat means I can cut stubs out of bomb-bay

28858798718_b65c758ef2_z.jpg

I hope you can look at this on your kit when it comes to it  . . .

may need to shorten the two poles along side the nav/Wop's table and may have to reduce the height of the pilots seat platform, wont know till I reach that stage . . . .

Ian

ps

Is the kit 4,000Lb bomb the correct size or is it a little on the small size I wonder ??

Really great job Ian, Congratulations !

I think that the cookie has been shrinked by tamiya.

At the start of Spad's build, I remember that he looked at that !

I already glued lot of PE around the pilot seat and from the start I choosed to let the bomb bay closed.

I also need room to put Lanc parts in the fuselage.

However, if you want a piece of PD 309 for your Lanc, feel free to tell it and PM your adress !

Sincerely.

Great pad work btw. I have had milliput not dry before but only because I didn’t mix it with the right ratio. Did it dry yet?

Hello Spad,

Yup, hard as a rock now ! I use to make 50/50 with milliput but mine is at least 20 years old.

Never asked if there are a peremption but It work still !

🤔 Difficulties in hardening as the years go by…. Mmmmh 🤔

Still some PE

WP_20180611_23_10_13_Pro

And I started the second wing, rivet rivet iretv vtrie As Freddie Mercury used to sing "I'm going slightly maaaaad"

And this is almost done

WP_20180611_22_58_03_Pro

RFIed soon ! I will no but never use that canned varnish !

Thanks for the kind words, I go now get the Flory out on the other side of that beast !

See you soon.

Sincerely.

Coming along nicely. Remember Tamiya put the wireless operator's window too far forward. Best mod that before you join the fuselage halves!

I like the radiator flaps on your engines. After rechecking W4783 in the Australian War Memorial Museum last week, I reckon I need to modify mine, too. I'm also getting rid of the rivets - the fuselage is smooth rivetted and the rivets on the wings are barely visible.

Hello Bell,

Job done, the Windows have been moved backward ! On mine and on the Spadgent one !

Almost together in fact !

Rivets are not easy to track on, flush on the wings but proud on the central section of the fuselage...

Thank for the kind words !

Sincerely.

I am very surprised that the aircraft did not carry H2s.

I had heard that not all main force aircraft carried the device which makes it hard work for the said aircraft's navigator ??

I knew that she did'nt carry it, and even Xtradecals knew it..

But I Don't know why, I read long time ago that the device was installed on 2 or 3 aircrafts in a Sqdn at least at the beginning.

Now may be a case of disponibility of the device, I don't know sorry,

That's why I sanded the Belly of my lanc.

Thanks for the kind words.

Still pondering about the bomb bay...

Put it up or not ???

Whatever, I will not let the bomb bay open, and I need some room to include my parts of the real Lancaster in the Fuselage….:shrug:

Mumble mumble mumble I hate choices !!!

Thank for your support !!

Sincerely.
