Beautiful, I shall poach that & trot it out at every vaguely suitable occasion till people get sick of hearing it. :D

Hello Dear tentacled one,

Rocs wings fixed ! Finally it was far more easier than originally thought !

None of the wings are good but a bit of SCHIRC and it turn good !

Hope that everything is going well on planet wibble !

Sincerely.

I once though about doing such a thing, glad someone far more capable than I beat me to it!

Have a bash, the conversion really isn't that hard.

That new Moulinex dangling abaft feels better proportioned in relation to the aircraft now Martian.

And you think that I am informed?

The ROC is looking good too @Martian Hale, I reckon it'll be worth the wait. :)

Thanks Steve, things would go quicker if my MVS Head of Unit would stop finding things for me to do!

My Dad swore blind that he knew someone who had once looped a Roc.  Given the fact that its stalling speed and VNE must have been about 3 kts apart, that was an act of considerable skill (not to mention insane bravery).

Truly a classic example of a design based on blind faith (in the turret fighter concept) rather than any appreciation of aerodynamics.

We love bonkers.

Right, I finally got round to getting the airbrush out. The Roc was first to get it's interior primed. I used Stynylrez black primer for this to assist with shadow shading the cockpits. I will give this a full day to prime and then get the interior colour on. The interior should proceed quite quickly once this is done as we will be onto brush painting, which I find quite therapeutic.

Thanks for looking

Nice to see this back on the bench.

Looking forward to seeing all your cockpit come to life with colour

Thanks Roger once the base colour has been laid down and I can get cracking with the detail painting and highlighting/lowlightng things should progress pretty rapidly. Well, rapidly by my standards that is.

DID YOU WIN A BLACK PRIMER CAN???????😨😨

I used black to help with the shading of the interior.

Hello Dear Martian !

Good to see that TT Roc back in business !!

I should give a try to your way of painting interiors…🤔

:partytime:

Did you have your answer about the belly of the beast ??

Yellow and black stripes or not ?

Sincerely.

Second that. Helps with all sorts of pre-shading approaches. Will be using black for my Vosper when I actually get my finger out and get that far!

Nice to see this progressing Martian.

Thanks Guys, I have got the interior green on but it seems to bright to me, I think that I may try some Vallejo on it instead or go for the natural metal interior that some Rocs seemed to have had.

The stripe question remain a bit of a conundrum. I will have to come up with some sort of answer soon.

Hello Dear fellow Roc builder,

AFAIK, the internals were painted interior green when the whole machine is repainted...

too late for me since the early Roc is already buttoned up...

now that's not a rule... A piece of luck indeed...

The second Roc must will also have a green interior since she will be a late one....

Should I consider a third Roc ??🤔

Sincerely.

Thanks CC  I have the impression that the Rocs in Bermuda hadn't been repainted before the went out there which still leaves us with a choice. As to whether you should build another Roc; as wise alien once said, you can never have too many Rocs.

I finally twigged as to why I was unhappy with the interior colour. I had used the brighter US Interior Green instead of the Aircraft Grey Green that I should have used. One of the pitfalls of trying to paint four different models at once I guess. Anyway, your resident Muppet has re-sprayed the interior and begun the highlighting and blocking in things like radios and cockpit fitting. The highlighting looks much starker in the picture than it does in real life, down to the flash on the camera I guess. I have kept the contrast quite marked however as it looks far more subtle in the gloom of the closed up fuselage.

It will be about a week before the next episode as I have to go away to help crew a narrow boat tomorrow, a real busman's holiday if ever there was one.

Thank for looking.
