Blackburn Roc Floatplane Target Tug

Recommended Posts

I am afraid to say that I was never a great fan of the TR7.  I worked with a guy who had one for a short while and if I remember rightly it left most of the engine in small pieces and a puddle of oil on the M25.  Didn't they re-engine it for the US market to give it a bit more poke?

Now if you are talking a sexy car the one I covert - Triumph Stag...   Oh yes, for me it's automotive porn....  Hopefully I'll see one later today...

Now about this Seamew and folding wings....

Hi Corsaircorp, yes I used to be an AA patrolman

I didn't drive a Movano though, my last vehicle before I retired was a VW T4

Possibly the best vans we ever had, far better than the Transits we had before

🚙

Automotive por n

Yes that would be the Triumph Stag, especially if its boat anchor V8 was swapped for the baby Buick Rover V8

My mate had one of those...

Drool!

I'm glad you got such a decent start on the wings Martian, Roc is beginning to roll too now

While I appreciate good design ( the "Morse" jaguar for one), I'm afraid I don't get excited in any way by cars, other than the kind of oh look, quite vintage car way.

If you're going to talk por n, then it's guitar pro n for me.

Funny thing is I can drive, but aren't interested in cars, but I can't play musical instruments, but love guitars.

Looking at the seamew, is it just me or do the canopies look just like the Gannet's?

Yes, yes, but did Triumph ever make a Seamew (or a car with folding wings)?

I can't find a Triumph with folding wings, but for those that enjoy combining a wingfold with motoring (and have a $million):

http://www.flyingmag.com/slovakias-aeromobil-unveils-its-12-million-flying-car-in-monaco

Quite amazing. I assume they will be naming a special edition for Britmodellers only; 'Seamew'  at some point in the future. It will include a two tone colour scheme and flush rivets :).

Look out for this special edition on the Rumourmonger pages and get in your pre-orders. The first 200 Aeromobil Seamews will come with a free PVC car cover, warning triangle, plastic nodding dog, pair of fluffy dice and a 'feu amber' air freshener with pin :drunk:.

Best regards

Oh, I do wish you lot would stop banging on about Triumphs, it.s cost me at least 2 hours of net surfing/time wasting today. :) My dream in the late 80s was for a two door Dolomite sprint based on the Toledo body shell, I very nearly bought a 2nd hand Sprint, not very old in those days (1980), hell; but it went, but ended up buying a brand new Escort 1600 Sport, I'd never had a brand new car before (or since), but have long dreamed of building up a Rally/Targa Tollymite (sic) Sprint, LT77 box & rally flairs of course with a colour scheme based on the Brit Ley one, it didn't come better than that. Right, sorry for that, please resume normal service. :D

Steve.

Go on Steve, you know you want too......:wicked:

Dear Martain

You must get Sarah Jane to pop in And meet the Clan when you are next passing the door to Lismore.

She can have a natter with Ruby our Mark 2 Jaguar

IMG_2256

And our MG, which was my fathers, currently in the process of being back on the road after 47 years !

IMG_2549

Trying not to sound like Tony, but we also have a 1970 MGB GT and a1969 MGB roadster both off the road needing work.

Plus 3 BSA Bantams and an old Douglas Motorcycle

Its safe to say I'm not going to run out of things to do if I ever get to retire

cheers Pat

Hello Perdu,

I'm always proud to say to my clients (members) that we use a VRS system engineered by the AA.

I sometimes met some colleague boyh in UK and Germany.

As a vintage car, I found one that share the first name of my wife.

A Datsun Silvia, but don't dare to show it since she need a huge amount of work ( I mean the car, my wife is ok:P)

It's from july 1980, I'm only the third owner, this car is rarely seen since there was only 276 of it selled in Belgium.

Have a very nice day

And pretty and confortable holydays to our tentacled friend, are you going to Jupiter this year, hum 10 days, should be the moon...

Raaaah this evening, it is modeling for CC

Sincerely.

Sorry no Seamew...

Really magnificent pic, I really like it, and Yes that's a Triumph with folding wings.

Also one my project, Seafire FR.47 and Firefly Mk I, for the 1st intervention of FAA in the Korean conflict.

Don't you worry, I also can depict the other ones, Sea Fury FB.11 and Firefly Mk V

I see they used the fuel tanks, but did use the rockets AND the fuel tank in the same time ??? Seemingly one rocket per wing at least

Thank for sharing.

Sincerely.

Still a little stunned by the use of the words "nice" and "TR7" in the same sentence....... I admit they were easy enough to get into, but try getting out over that anti-tank defence of a sill.....

Probably figured that once they'd got someone to actually get in such an ugly vehicle, they had to do what they could to keep them there!

The poor old TR7 used a gets very bad press, not helped by the winking headlights, i.e. One up one down.

But the Scottish edition had a very welcoming interior

Also available in "British Standard Beige" and "Glow in the dark Green" Tartans.

As a youngster growing up the I always thought the TR-7 was gorgeous, especially in a white hardtop.

Almost a poor mans Esprit.

Then I had the opportunity to sit in one.

Slabby beige plastic dash, awful (even in the day) fabric interior - Ewwww.

Such a let down.

Could be sorted by lavish application of a custom leather interior and ££££££.

I still look longingly when I see one on the roads though - especially if it's trailed by a V8 rumble. :)

Thankfully the remaining TR7's are now being rescued and restored, great to see Martian has chosen this mode of transport rather than his flying saucer which has a tendency to upset us primitive earthlings.  :P

Thanks tony, I did say I had taste.

Nobody is sure what "normal service" is round here anymore. Well, the normal bit anyway!

I agree about the Stag, in fact one of my mechanics specialises in them. As for the TR7, wash thy mouth out with some particularly vile tasting soap and hye thee to a nunnery I mean monastery!

I do guitar porn as well. For me it has to be the rare Fender Lead II.

That's Crisp sorted then. With his Navy pension he can probably afford to buy one each. Thanks on behalf of all of us Crisp!

You might have moved that red car out of the way so we can get a good look at her!

Were the late lamented 'Liz Sladen still with us, I would happily move the car and she could stare at my bedroom ceiling until Mrs Martian booted her out. She can be a bit unreasonable like that sometimes! (If she reads this bit, I am a dead Martian!)

I shall make a point of descending upon you. We are having to give Scotland a miss this year due to Gill's heart scare. She should be fine but we need to be sure before venturing too far from home. We will be back next year.

Well, Crisp is getting spoilt today, what with flying cars in EDSG/Sky and Triumphs with folded wings! You are a lucky lad Crisp. What are you?

This little short of blasphemy. I feel a spell of "cultural readjustment" in our corrective facility on Phobos may help you to see things a little more clearly. :jump_fire:

Nice Tartan, not so sure about the baby poo brown carpet though. Sarah-Jane has had nice new blue carpets fitted.

The Plastic dash was forced on Triumph by US elf and safety regulations which worried about wood splinters in the event of an accident. Like if you hit something fast enough to cause splinters to be flying everywhere, you wouldn't more serious problems on your plate!

Martian, Defending TR7s across the Galaxy

Oh yes! we were building a model weren't we? I got plenty of Mr Dissolved Gloop on the wings last night but sadly it was not quite cured enough before I had to go and do a full day's MVS duty. With a particularly manic patrol behind me, it is unlikely I will get any done tonight. In fact, I am struggling to stay awake to reply to all your posts.

Has he gone yet?

Did he leave the key under the mat?

Has he renewed his (Martian) green flag breakdown cover?
