Homebee Posted May 29, 2017 Posted May 29, 2017 (edited) KittyHawk is working on a 1/48th North American FJ-2(?)/3/3M Fury kit - ref. KH80155 Source: https://www.facebook.com/song.wang.5076/posts/1917304511861498?pnref=story V.P. Edited March 3 by Homebee 5
jpk Posted May 30, 2017 Posted May 30, 2017 Kitty Hawk posted CAD renderings on their Facebook page of a forthcoming FJ-3 Fury in 1/48 scale. 3
Thud4444 Posted May 30, 2017 Posted May 30, 2017 Are you kidding me! I left 1/48 because they didn't have kits of the planes I really wanted. So I built up a decent stash of 1/72 kits and almost every plane I've wanted has been announced or released 1/48. If Airfix announces a 1/48 Swift, Fulmar or Hunter; Or if anybody does a 1/48 Tiger, Cutlass, or Pirate I'm gonna lose my mind. Or perhaps I'll just fall into a nihilistic depression. 1
Sabrejet Posted May 31, 2017 Posted May 31, 2017 Well please please PLEASE!!! do VF-121 markings for it... (here's hoping). 136142/111: 141401/101: 141401/101: 136142/111: 136144/00: 141401/101: 136144/00: 141402/106: 141414/109: 141410/108: 5

Andrew D Jolly Rogers guy Posted May 31, 2017 Posted May 31, 2017 Wow Sabre, that's quite a treasure of photos!!! Very very nice!!!
Sabrejet Posted May 31, 2017 Posted May 31, 2017 I have a few (maybe) useful FJ-3 images from Illustrated Parts Catalog[ue] etc which I will post over the next few days. Might be of use if someone is about to do the KH kit. 1
72modeler Posted June 1, 2017 Posted June 1, 2017 Sabrejet, Wow! Awesome photos- thanks for sharing them! You wouldn't happen to have any VMF-235 FJ-2/3 photos, by any chance? The natural metal with the red bands really do it for me! Now. if Special Hobby can get off of their bottoms and release the FJ-2/3 they announced what seems like eons ago... Mike

Mike Not the best coverage for FJ-2s of VMF-235 and pretty much zero for FJ-3, but here goes: And the only FJ-3 shots I have of VMF-235: Edited June 1, 2017 by Sabrejet 4
71chally Posted June 1, 2017 Posted June 1, 2017 Superb Fury pics, thanks for sharing. I just hope that Kitty Hawk get this one right, and not make some of the shape blunders as they did with the Banshee.
Courageous Posted June 1, 2017 Posted June 1, 2017 Sabrejet, I have said this before, get a book published with the stuff you've got, there would be a lot of happy people...including me. Stuart 2

72modeler Posted June 1, 2017 Posted June 1, 2017 Sabrejet, Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! The very ones I needed photos of! Now, if we just had a decent 1/72 or 1/48 FJ-2! I've got the1/72 Falcon vacform conversion, but my skills aren't up to tackling a model in that format, yet! Thanks again for the generous sharing of your archives! Ditto the book idea...we need a modelers guide for the Naval variants, the USAF ones, and the RAF/RAAF versions! (Hey, I can dream, can't I?) Mike 1

Incidentally, I should point out that the above photos are a mix of credits: the late Bruce Robertson, Mike Fox, Tailhook Association and NAA Official. I will attempt to place credits with all future posts. Edited June 1, 2017 by Sabrejet 2
