Navy-ating Bucc's fizz - On the deck at last

Recommended Posts

Coming along nicely Bill. I've just returned from a holiday so catching up with things. Also there is a party round at Tony's (TheBaron) while he's on holiday as you know, so it's busy busy busy summer season for us Britmodellers...

Nice to see you too Bill and thanks for tracking down my sister - she had gone out the other door and THEN they were inside the Argosy!

It's great museum and shop and I must go back and spend more time looking at the exhibits without the distraction of the plastic!

I hope you realise she might have disappeared into the depths of the Vulcan's innards

Takes hours to disembowel folks from in there, all that stuff inside a space the size of an Escort van...

😨

Really good catching up again Ced, let's have more of these BM club meetings huh

Wow, I go away to the homeland for a week and a half, and I return to what appears to modelling normality!

Lovely work on those engine castings!

Fret ye not, normal service will be resumed as soon as possible. A lot of us are busy over at the Baron's at the moment!

I hope that this 'normality' doesn't reap havoc with the new implant they installed when you were 'home'

The model they fitted to me had to be replaced after I was overheard discussing building a target tank.

Anyway as usual we digress..what was he building again?

Now that is serious! I hope you were given suitable counselling!

Right, where's the fire lighters!

We must quash any breakouts of normality!

Targets are submarines.  Tanks are part of one's flying machine.

Oh, I see.  A brown job.

Probably best to re-set, in that case.  I hope it has now worn off.

Semantics

Are a bi*ch huh

:)

Whilst I was stoking the fire having a drink round at Tony's awaydays party somebody mentioned the oft entertained fable that this model is having bent upwards wings

feerrrget it kids, this one is to be displayed with folded airbrakes

And drooped flaperons

Here is a part way explanation of what''s to be

P1120949.jpg

Here we have the inner (unbendable) bit of wing with the flaps cut out, the etchystuff on the airbrake petals, undercoated wheel bays and the basic ejection seat in progress

A other view ditto

P1120950.jpg

For the etch I'm trying and hoping for results, Gator's Grip white stuff

If it fails Gator Glue (brown) will get a call to duty as advertised nearby

P1120951.jpg

Those wingtips need attention, flaperons too

P1120952.jpg

The lower wing sections will be getting seriously sharp chamfering to allow the blown effect surfaces to droop

P1120953.jpg

The flap inner wall will be filled first thing tomorrow, then smoothed off and the wings assembled to suit, ready to be fixed to the engine 'sponsons' when the fuselage gets closed up

I will be getting a couple of Vallejo greys to see how close I can get to Light Admiralty Grey in their stinkless paint prior to dashing some in under  the landing gear units and wells

Trying 70-907 and 70-997 which give close 'looking' matches on a google search

Some nice carvery work going on there Bill :thumbsup2:

It's going to look great with your cut out bits in place and drooping.

I can't help thinking that there was a better way to write that  .

Best regards

Hmm, shall we leave it just THERE?   :penguin:

I can think of far worse changes to that than the original

I think you're both right :) and I agree with Tony, reading that sentence from a modelling point of view... great surgery job, can't wait to see all those bits coming together

There's a strong possibility that Ced may never notice
