hairystick Posted May 25, 2017 Posted May 25, 2017 (edited) After many years of development, the New Zealand Electron rocket has made it into space. Now the 11th nation to develop the capability to launch into orbit. Well done lads and ladies! Rather chuffed with this, since my Dad was involved with the successful launch of Black Arrow (I still have his project tie). http://www.bbc.com/news/world-asia-39971843 http://www.nzherald.co.nz/technology/news/video.cfm?c_id=5&gal_cid=5&gallery_id=176499 Edited May 25, 2017 by hairystick 1
Eric Mc Posted May 28, 2017 Posted May 28, 2017 It didn't make it into orbit - although they do intend to eventually achieve that feat.

hairystick Posted January 21, 2018 Author Posted January 21, 2018 (edited) Orbit achieved. Nice one! Edit: Part of the payload announced. No Sputnik "beep beep" device, just a disco ball! "Fabulous sweetie!" http://www.nzherald.co.nz/hawkes-bay-today/news/article.cfm?c_id=1503462&objectid=11981652 Edited January 25, 2018 by hairystick 1
