*FINISHED* 1/144 Roden Super VC-10 BOAC G-ASGB & BA G-ASGH

Recommended Posts

Now almost complete; decals applied, engine intakes and exhausts to finish painting and then the top aerial and nose pitots to attach

Having debated the issue re number of reverse thrusters, using the decals gives a good overall impression:

Just in case anyone was wondering why this build has taken me so long, the new title tells all - I've been building my other Roden kit at the same time and have finished this one in BA Negus livery.

Here are a few photos

Classic scheme! I love the little glimpses of passengers through the windows too.

Regards,

Adrian

Thanks Adrian.

Yes, Authentic Airliners window decals make a big difference and break up the monotony of every window being a shade of grey.  For the BA scheme, I managed to cut up their BAC 1-11 cockpit decals to fit the VC-10 - a fiddly job!

Two lovely VC-10's, my favourite scheme is still BOAC's gold Speedbird though.

Thanks, I stopped "spotting" in the late 60s and didn't do much flying (as a passenger) until the mid 80s, so Negus and Landor schemes passed me by.  So the BOAC livery is the one that I remember.

Despite it getting a lot of criticism, I think that the Landor scheme looks really good.
