Douglas DC 3 / C47 Skytrain GB Chat

Recommended Posts

Dates:  9 Feb to 12 May 2019

Good afternoon

As far as I know there has never been a STGB for the DC3 / C 47 Skytrain on Britmodeller and I think that there are enough  kits already available in 1/72 and 1/48 so what do you think of my idea for next year ?

Of course we would accept all derivatives of the DC 3/ C47 wich means Lisounov LI-2 , Basler BT 67 , DC 2 ..

Having three in the stash (Airfix, Italeri & Esci) I could/should be tempted.

I think this would be a popular GB Patrice. I've never been involved in Group Build, however this one could be my first.

Cheers... Dave.

Me too. for ever an ardent Dakota fan. The thing is I already have 5 built ones in my collection.... can always make room for another though...

I could also enter my remaining 1/144 Minicraft one...

Drat! Bought one of these last year, planning to do skis.

Then built it as a Skytrooper for a colleague.

One that I'll have to look for at Gloucester Show.

Just to be clear, I don't currently have a C-47 in my stash to build.

I will be looking for one at Gloucester Model Show tomorrow - and hope to join you.

Edited: didn't find one at a price I'm prepared to pay, so you'll have to proceed without me.

I did buy an Airfix RCAF C-47 at that show last year - with a plan for skis.

BUT was then asked to build it thus - for a colleague, who's grandfather flew them during the Berlin Airlift.

Here's a link to another C-47 that I built in 2015:

Good afternoon the plasticsurgeon

First of all you 2 very good looking C47 there :clap2:then I am just making a list to see how much people might be interested by this Gb  ..

You still have plenty of time to get one kit if this Gg makes it for next year   ..

  • 2 weeks later...
  • 4 weeks later...

Please count me in.

I have two Antarctic R4D kits I wish to build (Esci), a C54 (Italeri) and Li-2 (Amodel) in Polish  markings too. All are 1:72.

It will force me to do one.

Best regards
