I have the Vallejo Rust and Chipping book which features one of these, so I googled 'Hasegawa Vanship' for more information and found this.  Words fail me (quite an unusual occurrence!) so insert as many superlatives as you wish.  That much scratch detail 1/72 scale?  Double wow.

Thanks Dave, appreciated. These kits are ripe for scratch work, just wish Hase would consider releasing a few more craft from the series. I've been eyeing up several of the Industria Mechanica kits too...again the subject just cries out for some super-detailing and creative diorama settings.

Thanks Pete, I'm also a bit surprised they haven't as yet considered releasing it in a larger scale...imagine the fun to be had in 1/24th!

Seems odd that they'd consider releasing (and re-releasing) just one style of machine from a very popular anime series when there are many more available, still, must be just grateful for this one really.
