Seawinder Posted April 30, 2017 Share Posted April 30, 2017 Pretty sure it was black. From what I've read, the last green cockpits were in the Spitfire 24s. According to Edgar Brown in a Hyperscale thread, the Seafire XV had a green cockpit, the Seafire XVII had black from elbow level upward and green below, and postwar Seafires had all black cockpits. 1 Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

My old Seafire Mk 46 project started life as a Spitfire Mk 22 PV270 from Castle Bromwich that was cancelled and shipped to South Marston. Scale 1:1 Originally the cockpit was green but was changed to black, presumably at South Marston. I have long parted with it but it is on track to fly.
