corsaircorp
Hello Dears, A bit of nostalgia and a way to see that your skills have improved.. These 2 have crossed a good part of the world. Bought in Florida by a friend of mine, they came in Kolwezi in then Zaïre.. And back in Belgium, they got some real flying hours Under their belts Glued with pattex Multipurpose glue (Nothing else available) puttied with glazier putty for the same reasons. I decide to give the P-40 a second life, so I clean the wall paint, will be a next combo building Those are kits build in Africa in 1982 Then back in Belgium, I did this one (and some others that did'nt survive) Matchbox Phantom Humbrol hand painted Seem that I was found of the Zinc Chromate yellow at the time No Wheel well, no detailing but I started the weathering
corsaircorp
The Phantom has been made in 1986, Then I find a decal sheet and did this ... A Heller Mirage VZ from the Zairese air force Tail and nose has been modified to conform the version She's my first try with an airbrush, a basic badger, nice one, I now work with a Badger 150. This Mirage has made lots of expositions with my club at the moment, it was rarely seen. Let's say, if I found back this decal sheet from Carpena but at 1/48, I'll make her again. And this too, Must say Obviously ! Hasegawa 1/72 Tomcat. I use to be a great fan of the Jolly Rogers, I can make every and any Aircraft used in that squadron from 1943. As I have my Jolly rogers to do in 1/48, this one was 1/72 so I choose one of the oldest USN Squadron. No this is not nice weathering at all, it is real dirt So Gents, please do not be to picky about these ones, they are elderly kits They range from '86 to '89, then there has been a gap of some years (almost 20) with few or no kit building. But I still buy kits in these years It is just for the fun of it, hope you've enjoyed and give your old kits another beam from Spotlight. Old soldier never die, old kits deserve the same fate Have a nice day. Sincerely. Corsaircorp (moved a bit)
stevehnz
Those are nice Alain, maybe not sooo much for the modeliing skills on show than for the story behind them ( OK, the modelling is fine too. ) I'll let you tell me about them over a nice Belgian beer one day. Luis Alfonso
Hi Corsaircorp!!! Nice builds and a lot of History in each one!!! Its nice to have some old kits the way they were built to remember how have been improved thorug the years in quality and exactitude, keep those treasures as part of your own story and if possible just correct what you can...otherwise buy them again and do new builds. The Tomcat with real dirt look a dream and the Mirage is beautiful, also P-40 is a nice kit that of its the Monogram, turns in a very respectable model without too much effort, and if you have the missing parts or can find them from someone "Spare Parts Departament" would be a nice piece in your 1/48 collection, but if you will recontruct them, keep a nice and well documented memory of the kits, so you can watch the before and after. Cheers and thank you very much for sharing your memories and your wonderful models!!! Luis Alfonso
