JWM
It would be nice to see also late variant of TB-3 (besides the early which is done by ICM) And more prosaic - a early Tupolev DB3 in a good quality (it is very basic by Maquette) Cheers J-W

The K-7 could go quite nicely with a couple of Hasegawa vanships or steampunk-ed Kalinin K-12s and other oddball Soviet planes.

In fact that is near the top of the list of aircraft I'd love to see done in 1/72nd scale. I'd also love to see not only a good early DB-3, but a good, modern mould of a DB-3F (Il-4). That's an aeroplane that's been neglected for far too long when it comes to a modern kit. It was as important to the Soviets as the He 111 was to the Germans. I never did model of any of them but I gave in stash Zvezda DB 3F and at least in box it looks OK to me. Will see while constructing... This is Zvezda DB 3 F https://www.scalemates.com/kits/137310-zvezda-ilyushin-il-4 Here is much more basic Maquette DB 3/3F https://www.scalemates.com/kits/138153-maquette-mq-7228-ilyushin-db-3-bomber And VEB Plasticart/Revell https://www.scalemates.com/kits/187569-veb-plasticart-39-ilyushin-il-4 As far as I know they are all three different moulds and the Zvezda is the most detailed. Flankerman
Wow!! - I can't wait - it is such a strange - and HUGE - contraption. According to my trusty calculator, a 1/72 scale model would have a wingspan of 736mm - or 29 inches Wiki says a span of 53m or 173ft 11in :- https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kalinin_K-7 Ken PS - For comparison the Lancaster has a wingspan of 102ft and a B-17 103ft 9in. Learstang
Only 29 inches? A mere trifle, then. Something to keep me occupied for a few days in between finishing my Bears. Regards, Jason
roginoz
Oh YESSSS ! That moves to the top of the wants/needs list !! Question, Ken, Radleigh. Have either of you built the, allegedly, 144 K-7 ? It builds up smaller than the Revell Bear in 144, so I'm guessing that it's closer to 1/200. Any thoughts ? Rog
Colin1967
I am pleased to see this one is coming along nicely and hoping it won't be to far away for us hungry modellers. Have also purchased the AKAN colors set from Soviet Union WW2 which I am hoping will be suitable for this wonderful and strange flying machine ?
