RN Phantom & Buccaneer - finished

RFI in sight - onto the last decaling for both then clearcoat 

 

 

Am thinking I probably need to do a Wessex and an AEW Gannet to complete the set. The Gannet used to be a gate guardian at Prestwick near where I grew up so the Sword kit fits the bill but I'll need to change the numbers. Hmmm...

Yup - after setting this lot alongside each other a Gannet and a Wessex are definitely going onto the build queue

 

 

Still a lot of the tiny decals to go onto the Buccaneer but I couldn't resist seeing how the recent trio looked together

Fine job on those two, especially given how old those kits are.

Decals on and clearcoat and the only thing that is nagging me now is that I've realised the nose wheel door on the phantom is hinged to the wrong side. Am resigned to the fact that moving it will only look worse than living with the fact it is a bit wrong.

 

Might brave a RFI thread tomorrow but in the meantime...

 

 

 

 

Have come round to the USAF way of thinking on air-air refuelling as I managed to knock that probe off the Buccaneer at least three times faffing about

p.s. I realise the Sidewinder rails look a bit odd/bare on the Phantom bit the kit ones were seriously rubbish so it'll wait till I have some spares
