Tony C
Hmmm... Road cars, Triumph Stag, Rover P5B Coupe and Lancia Beta HPE F1 cars, Williams FW08B (yes, the one with 6 wheels), Williams FW18 and Braun BGP 001 WEC cars, Audi R18 TDI, Audi R18 e-tron Quattro and Bentley Speed 8! Mind you, why not 1:12 for any if the above

Alan R
Definitely a Mk 1 Lotus Cortina! Complete with engine as well... How about a 1/6th scale Norton Commando complete with proper wire wheels. Or a more modern 1/6th scale Triumph Speed Triple? I live in hope, though not holding my breath, Alan. P.S. Oops! 1/24th cars. I would still like those bikes anyway!
Guest
Mine? Aston Martin DB7 GT Coupe - my all time favourite dream car? How could they not! MGB GT - Aoshima did the soft top in 24th and very good it is too, but we could do with the GT. 1974 Ford Consul 4-door. 'cos we're the Sweeney and we haven't had any dinner! Pete in Lincs
That Consul, there's a Morris Traveller in the background! I saw a Consul near to Mablethorpe on someone's driveway.
TonyTiger66
I thought the Sweeney cars were Ford Granadas? Doesn't the Consul variant have a more fast back shape? I would buy one, whatever they're called. Kit and real life 1:1 if I had the cash.... My friend's dad had one, just like the one in the picture; that was a Granada. 3 litre I think. Very smooth, nice seats, lovely car for around 1974. 1/24 by Tamiya? Yugo (any) Austin Allegro Talbot Samba TonyT

No, it was the Granada that was available as a fast-back. If I recall, there was a Granada estate version as well. Cheers, Alan.
Alan R
I can't remember if anyone else has said this. How about a 3-Litre Capri Mk1. Our GP had one when I was still at school. Cheers, Alan.
TonyTiger66
I had a quick read as I was bamboozled. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ford_Granada_(Europe) It says ' at first, lower range models were called the Consul'. I need to rewind my life. I'm 51 and have always known all of them as the 'Granny'. As a kid, that's what the Sweeney cars were. If I remember rightly, the idea for 'Life on Mars' started with the words: Ford Granada. I had a Cortina Mk III (a four litre Australian variant) until 2 years ago (TD XLE in gold with black vinyl roof). Lots of grunt; great in a straight line, not so good on mountain passes, but I loved it. Be they Consuls, Granny's, Cortys or Corsairs, all would be welcome in 1/24. . T Edit: Seems from '75 onwards they were all called 'Granada', which makes sense with the Sweeney ('75) and my mate's dad's high end of the range '74: http://www.telegraph.co.uk/motoring/classiccars/8892180/The-Sweeney-classic-Ford-Granada.html
Pete in Lincs
The Granada fastback or coupe was a European 2 door model with LHD and was not sold in England. I used the wooden doortop trims off one on my 2 door Ford Taunus back when I served in Germany.
stevej60
I seem to think Revell did a Morris traveller in 1/46 scale years ago I know they did a Rover 3:5 and an Austin hot rod and Jaguar 2:4 ltr that looked like Morse's.

Oh yes it was sold in the U.K. Not just England. Are you confusing it with the Taunus coupé? The actual Sweeny Granada used to park near our house when I was a kid as the driver "George" lived up our road! stevej60
Bring back Vinyl roof's and glass sunroof's I say! With all this seventies retro colour's some manufacturer's should be brave enough. When I first met the wife's Grandad he had an immaculate black Vauxhall VX 490 with a cream vinyl roof chrome trims and white walled tyres a proper Mafia staff car. I imagine the same for the 917 but from Fujimi. Some very underwhelming choices here. I know it's all wishful thinking but Cortinas???? Assuming those offerings meet my exacting standards, I'm changing the bid to a 2001 Ford Focus Black, and a Rover 214Si.

The vinyl roof was a favourite form of protection for the dreaded tin worm ... And I remember those Aussie TD Cortinas with the Falcon straight six engine - understeer personified! Schwarz-Brot
I'd be into some famous pikes peak cars. Starting of course with the winged Quattro and ending with Loebs Peugeot 208. Then there's the Ken Block Mustang. But I might tackle that myself.

I had to peel the beige vinyl roof off my Chrysler Centura 4.0l when rusty water stared leaking out the stitching. They hadn't painted the roof at all. Orbital sander, red ox zinc chromate and two coats of exterior acrylic texture with a roller. 😎 As to the poll.
