500? Wuss! Try 1,500 plus! (I've told the missus when I croak, to announce the fact to the modelers I know and stand back when the stampede begins as they come to pay their respects to the soon to be rich widow 72 Modeler!) So many kits...so little time!

Mike

Hi Mike,

1500 and counting... And I thought I was on my way to become a hoarder with some 70-odd kits in the stash... I am cancelling my next shrink appointment, thanks to you. Your wife will definitely be a rich widow...

I am truly impressed!

Well, I'm not exactly proud of the fact; I never intended to be a collector, as I was "only going to buy what I was going to build" Ha! Then I started getting two of everything- one to build, and one as a backup, which I would then sell/trade if not needed. Then I got married, then two kids came along, and the getting was taking place a lot faster than the building.....thirty years later- here I am. I will never live long enough, at my current rate of production, to even put a dent in my inventory; been selling off kits, etched, resin, and metal parts, and decals on that famous auction site for a couple of years now, and still have a hobby room and attic filled up...don't even get me started on my reference library! As Dion and the Belmonts said in the song, "Here's my story, it's sad, but true..."

Hello CC ... I just realized i never did post these way back last summer. I promised to show you my P-38 lightning. Well here it is

oKH8fBK.jpg

This is Monogram’s classic P-38 done up in 475th Fg. Markings. I built this for my Father in law in 2016 for fathers day. He had seen another P-38 i was building , and commented that when he was a kid during the war the P-38 was his favorite type. So i personalized this one for him. The nose art on the Starboard reads “The crivetz kid” his childhood home town in Wisconsin. The port side reads “PJ’s Pride & Joy”. His name is Peter john. I truly like to think he enjoyed the gift. Hope it meets your expectations.

Hi CC,

where would we be if Saint Benedict had been a teetotaler?

It does not bear thinking, does it?

As to not being hoarders, I love your positive reinforcement therapy.

Keep having fun!

Thanks Häkan,

It became mandatory to improve Old Monogram kits !

Is this a best way to do it ???

How many Monogram on their way… Devastator (2) Avenger (1) F-84F (1) Skyraider (1) Hellcat (1) Lightning (1) and Delta Dart (2)

That make the count me think !

Thanks for the kind words Dears !

Sincerely.

Love those old Monogram kits. Built the B-25 once upon a time, and have a few kits in the stash.

More to come soon !! 3 more evening night work and I'll be back at the Bench :yahoo:

Hello Dears,

Wzll, my sanding nightmare of a Douglas Skyknight is on the paint booth...

So, back to the following sanding nightmare...

IMG_20200219_215139

Sometimes, I put some kits apart, and then...

IMG_20200219_231813

The Academy one is also in bad need of sanding...

IMG_20200219_215148

Well, still, I have to work on the internals...

Just restartting the UPC in between my 2 ears, you know these... "What did I had in mind when I did it that way...😜

The next 2 RFI are visible in the background...

IMG_20200219_233916

See you soon Gents...

Sincerely.

As would our Baron notice, this thread is a steam powered one...

But nonetheless I wake it up from time to time...

Finish at least one of the Lightning in '21 look like a good plan...

IMG_20210120_230930

It's an affair of sanding, engraving, putty and sanding again..

The boomerang is on its way too...

Stay safe Gents !!

Sincerely.

Hello Dears,

Waking up this double build...

Another old Monogram that will be REALLY upgraded....

IMG_20220118_195259

Creating radiator flaps, since they are almost always open....

Then, a lot of engraving and sanding....

IMG_20220118_232843

Closing and adding details in the wheel wells...

Maily from scratch !! Using the Eduarcademy as a template...

It's time to finish one or at least trying to finish one....

Stay safe Gents !!

And Happy modelling !!

Sincerely.

I love the way you said "well see you in 4 days" and then the BM thread puts up a banner that says "11 months later...." 😂

Those Monogram rivets and fasteners are perhaps a little bit over scale CC. What do you think?? 🤔

Good luck with these, and be prepared to add more weight up front, heluva job getting them to stand up. I'll check in again in 4 days or so...... 👍
