1/72 - Fairey Ultra-light Helicopter by AMP - released

Absolutely amazing to have a kit of this! I think I'll compile a list of aircraft type NOT reproduced in scale form. Shouldn't take more than half a page of A4 at 12pt. This one I must have.

I really have to get one of these when it comes out. One of the few Helicopters from the Helicopter Museum I have not built.

Excellent to see, but interesting choice ahead of Wasp, Scout, Skeeter...?

Moulded in clear plastic I assume?

All we need now is the (Bedford?) truck it was flown off, at least that way it will be visible.

Is this going to be the smallest ever 1:72 aircraft kit?

Good gravy! Each one to come with free reading glasses?

Interesting subject. At 63mm in length even I might finish that one in a few days.

I remember seeing one of these "parked" behind a garage in Aston in Birmingham in the mid/late 70's! It was on a traitor and I did take a slide of it at the time. It will take me a while to find it, not like today's digital collections.

Does anyone make a kit of the lorry they used to fly this thing on and off from?

Looks like a Ford Thames Et6. Found a short wheel base so would need to convert it.

A company called Base Toys I think have done the cab, but I am not sure if they have done a flatbed body. Also you could try Model Transport Images, they specialise in resin commercial vehicle cabs wheels etc and are not cheap. Both will be 1/76th to go with model railways and so are fractionally undersize for the one true scale.

John day models make a 1/76th long wheel flat base of the Ford Thames Et6.

Who'dve funk we'd get a kit of this little rarity.  Truly a golden age.
