Grover 27
Tony, Both are nice planes. But compared to Noratlas the CL-215 is some easier to build. Also the CL-215 need some weight in the nose. But I constructed it in flying position. Therefore the landing gear has to made some longer. As it is visible beside the fuselage. Again some CL 215 construction photos what will show what I try to say. Back to the Noratlas. Tonight I made some wiring on the left-main gear. But have some doubts. The copper wire I used is rather thick. I used this picture as reference. http://www.britmodeller.com/forums/index.php?/topic/234963557-nord-noratlas-n2501/ Only two copper wires were used? Ore should I remove the copper wiring? Edited March 2, 2017 by Grover 27

corsaircorp
Hello Grover, Very nice job on this one, "la grise" is a nice Aircraft, even if I do prefer the C-119. My father was also in paratroops, he did went to Fort Lamy There was Noratlas and AAC-1 Toucan. He did choose the french Ju-52 instead of the Noratlas. Congratulations, you did it right. Sincerely. Flyingdutchman
Not a plane so you see a lot on the modeling forum on the net. I love your practical approach to get this kit to be a masterpiece! The idea of the screw is very clever, same goes for the wing reinforcements. I will keep that in mind. Good luck with the rest of the build.
PaulT 876
Hi I like it so far it has given me some ways to fix my one that I put on the I will finish it some time pile, my U/C did not take the weight to well and broke up. I put my nose weight in the fright bay right at the front made it look like cargo, I do this all the time with cargo planes. Mine is in French markings, I have a few more to start. Keep going like it so far. Paul
Radleigh
Lovely to see a Noratlas being built, in all the years of going to shows, I've never seen one finished!! I have one that's part built, that I will finish in the next year or so. Keep up the good work.

Pete in Lincs
That will be hydraulic pipes for the brakes. I also think it looks good. Once it's painted, it will look even better.
TonyTiger66
Thank you for the information on the CL-215. It's good to know. One day I would like to build it as one of the Spanish ones. The Noratlas undercarriage looks great . TonyT
Mountain goat
Just stumbled upon this build. Interesting to see Heller's Grise leaves room for improvement -and fascinating the way how you took up the slack. Wonderful actually. I agree with others: the copper wiring looks fine. I'm contemplating purchase of just such a kit, so this is a great incentive. Looking forward your next update! Jay
adey m
Some fantastic attention to detail so far Grover. Don't forget the lights set into the fuselage on both sides under the second window from the front which illuminated the engines and undercarriages in the dark. Wez
Well how did I miss this one? Great work on a venerable kit, I'm glad I didn't sell mine now, this thread is an inspiration and one I shall be following! Does anyone know of some French decals for this machine?
Grover 27
Quote Don't forget the lights set into the fuselage on both sides under the second window from the front which illuminated the engines and undercarriages in the dark. Adrian, thanks for attending that to me. Otherwise I should have missed that detail completely. So many thanks. I found this example on the web. Clearly visible just before the number "1", the light switched on. Quote Does anyone know of some French decals for this machine? Wez, I am not aware of French aftermarket transfers. But I do not use the Heller decals from this kit. If you want the Heller deals just sent me a pb. Apologise for the slow build progress here. As other stuff took time from this built away. But intended to try to finish the Nora before the start of the F-15 group build here: http://wstill ww.britmodeller.com/forums/index.php?/topic/234993661-f-15-eagle-stgb/& The clear plastic parts are now glued on the fuselage. I managed to pollute the rear windows inside with glue... (stupid me). And I started with the boring but necessary work. Masking the round windows with tape. Also necessary, to mask the clear parts - fuselage aligning faults. I use water based filler and so residue can easily be removed. Even if it is dried. I started with the front. It looks messy at this stage. Yes very messy... and only halfway the filling stage yet... a lot to do more... And doubts, seeing this picture about the little square windows in front.... As Adrian mentioned I try to create the little lights in the fuselage with Micro kristal Klear. And with that also replace, those small rectangular plastic for window forming liquid. Regards Rudie. Toulouse Decals actually produced a sheet featuring the very aircraft you've shown in your last post but they're long out of print. That's ideally the aircraft I'd like to do... ...oh well I live in hope. Wez
TonyTiger66
It looks very tidy Rudie. The filler at the front is neat; it will look fine . Good to see you working on this again; you've done a great job All best regards TonyT
modelling minion
Only just found this (sorry!) and I am glad I have. I have 2 of these beauties in the stash and must get around to building at least one of them soon and your build is very inspiring.

RidgeRunner
I guess it died or went to "that" shelf! To be honest I'd lost track of it in the mixed thread. Shame Martin
Grover 27
Ah.. still alive and well. Apologies for the mixed threads.
