Hi everybody!

I am back with a new kit on my workbench since last summer. This model is wonderful, lot of details, very good engineering and beautiful surfaces. Some people don't like the high number of pieces but it allows a greater level of detail in my opinion. I added the Brassin wheel wells (impressive pieces), a Master pitot probe and obviously some scratchbuilt details.

My title is quite ambigus :-) because I'gonna do the Croatian scheme.

A picture of the box ( most of you know it I think)

The scheme I am interested in:

MiG-21BIS-Eduard-camo-E1_zpsgmozs9nx.jpe

And a nice picture of the real aircraft (thanks airliners!)

<Sorry, but Airliners.net copyright photo has to go.  Next time put a link in to their site where the photo is held>

I will post only the main steps, or what I feel as main steps :-) because I don't really follow the steps of the notice.

I have already done the airbrake wells, the wheel wells, the landing gear and the engine, so I'm gonna post more pictures very soon!

I began with the airbrakes wells. Not as simple as mentionned in the notice, but I got it. First I drill holes, then I make the final shape using a file and Xacto blade. Finally I put very few epoxy putty and it's done:

Now some pictures of the wheel wells. Level of details is incredible on this Brassin accessorie. However I preferred to use the plastic kit pieces for the nose well because it's also the cockpit floor and it seemed safer to keep it. Anyway details of this place can hardly be seen ;)

The colours make it looks like a toy but itis the colours on croatian Fishbeds.

In the next post I will put picturesof the landing gearsbut now it's time to have a rest.

Have a good day!

Great start Panzer, it's a cracking little kit. I've built one and have a Bis and MF in the stash.

Is it the PE airbrake set you're fitting? If so the it looks great when finished but the doors are fiddly and may drive you to drink!

I look forward to seeing more soon.

I didn't know there was a PE kit for the airbrakes! :) But I'm gonna use the kit pieces. Thanks Murray!

I promised pictures of the landing gears, it is done! I added wire and details with stretched sprue, tin wire and masking tape. Photo-etch pieces will be put once the oleos will be masked.

Lovely start there, this is going to turn out nice I think.

Just a quick word of warning though, there is a ban on posting images from airliners.net. Just thought I would mention it, as I don't want to see you get in trouble with the moderators.

The relevant info can be found here.....

Don't worry unduly - you're new to the site, but posting a link is the best bet for next time.  If you have a read of that thread Matt linked to, it's just to save us being on the end of a cease & desist order (or whatever legal things people get up to about copyright photos).

Thanks Exdraken, thanks for the explanation Mike!

Back with scratchbuilt details on the engine/ exhaust nozzle:

And the dry test:

It took me some time, especially to glue the aluminium foil pieces :swear:

Have a nice week end!

Ok Ok ok!!^_^ The same parts painted and glued together:

I love russian colours!

My mistake was to paint the white parts with a brush on the green coat, it makes the surface  not really smooth.

Comments and critics are welcome.

Have a nice day!

Thanks all! And sorry if I don't post lot of pictures but I'm really busy.

However I have now glued the fuselage halves together, it means that cockpit is finished.

But first some pics of the wing part of the wheel wells:

20170122_165431_zpsu1l2cfqd.jpg

20170122_165626_zpssbiubzhd.jpg

20170122_165703_zps6aqm5pnj.jpg

It is important to check the references before painting. as an example, Eduard's notice tell to paint one of the fire extinguishers (on the right on the last picture) black instead of blue.

About the cockpit... the colour of the PE parts is not exactly the good one for a croatian Fishbed but I don't have the skills to scratchbuild and paint all these details, so it will be ok.

And that's all for tonight.

Thanks for watching, comments and critics are welcome!

Good evening to every one

Should be even better than your 109 when finished!

Thanks Antoine, I hope so! I will avoid some little mistakes I did on the Bf 109. And surely make others on this one, otherwise it couldn't be funny ;)

More seriously, what looks like my Fishbed today? Something like that:

20170331_171258_zpsqnkwrhpp.jpg

20170331_171330_zpsdadydfye.jpg

And with better pictures it looks like that:

IMG_5656_zpsvkdmecol.jpg

IMG_5658_zpsx4vgrqo3.jpg

IMG_5649_zpssvdckxqk.jpg

All the putty it needs is mr surfacer 500 and 1200. Except a little place near the exhaust, but I will show it to you in my next post.

Next step: rivetting the low rear part of the fuselage.

Hope you like it!

Have a good night
