John Laidlaw
As an addendum, whilst checking the company's recently updated organisational chart, I've discovered I have a new, even longer job title. I wish someone had told me...

Procopius
At least it seems I was only guilty of following instructions: not crazy by Edward IX, on Flickr These two steps are on different pages, but clearly show both sets of shoulder straps. Are they supposed to form one set?
Stew Dapple
I think there are two parts to make up the shoulder straps PC, I think you have done it correctly. Cheers, Stew

Stew Dapple
Ah I see; yours are not merged? It isn't really noticeable. If it bothers you, a little bending of the 'upper' straps with the tweezers might fix it? Cheers, Stew

AdrianMF
Apparently this is a topic of some dispute. I found this: http://www.network54.com/Forum/149674/thread/1295649550/2/Spitfires+and+Sutton+Harnesses which sort of came to no conclusion. It's awfully hard to find a picture of a "spitfire harness" or "spitfire seat" which doesn't show a model these days. And somewhere lower in the image search results were some other harnesses that I can't unsee... Nice builds by the way. I like the picture of the Spitfires all peeling off across the desk. Stew Dapple
I wouldn't worry too much. Most kits don't even provide you with the lower set of straps, why would you know? None of us noticed either. Cheers, Stew

CedB
Avoiding sounding like a teenager with too many 'likes' but I'm with the others PC - they look great to me and, given the discussions, no one will comment on your careful fixings... I found an explanation of the harness on spitfire.com and it looks like the 'back' straps were fixed to the bottom of the seat (to hold the pilot down?) and connected to the others that connected to the cable in the rear to hold the pilot back? The straps seem to be connected just under the shoulders? Could that be why the first set is shown 'close to the seat' on the Eduard 'instructions'? Whatever, they still look great

Some of the leavings will then be used to make Al Deere's Spitfire IXc, which had late bulges and an early carb, according to Fundekals, who would never lie to me, never. I also did a little work on the Spitfires, but I'm tired, as I ran today and then counted up the calories from a milkshake (about a billion) and couldn't eat anything more, and then I got sucked into doing housework and cleaning up Madeleine's house and feeding the bloody birds and and and anyway. 20170215_220029 by Edward IX, on Flickr 20170215_220035 by Edward IX, on Flickr I found that by fitting the sides of the radiators first, the PE fit inside reasonably well. One of the really cool things about living in Chicago is that sometimes the wind comes at you in such a way as to make you feel like you're wearing nothing at all -- your clothing is simply no defence against the overwhelming, all-conquering cold. One of the drawbacks of living in a part of the country that's almost totally flat. 7 hours ago, CedB said: Primer soon? Looking very good. rob85
That do look great! Nice work on the intake, which has been squirrelled away for later reference... the little guy looks like he is having a whale of i time, very cute! now I know everyone loves spitfires, myself included... but didn't you say you had 26 of the Eduard mkix not including the 4 currently on the go, and you have just received a further 6 making 32?? Probably close to the total number of my stash... now I'm either talking out of jealousy or concern, you can decide, but do you think you have a problem?....
