Procopius
I built three Eduard Spitfire IXs (two IXc late, and one IXc early) as my first builds of 2017. I weathered Henryk Dygala's "Pat", but things went south after that, so no more weathering for me for a spell.
Cookenbacher
Inspiring builds PC, literally, they caused me to start my own trio. I really like the weathering on WX-D, pastels? A great WIP (as usual) and a rare RFI, life is good.
John Laidlaw
Very nice indeed. I do like WX*D in particular - the weathering is nicely restrained, and the finish is rather lovely. This is the one with the Colourcoats colours, correct? The OG looks spot on, and the DG's shade is perfect to my eye. Nice one!

Yep, mostly a mix of Alclad WarPigs black and Mig white, with some Warpigs greys in there too. I used a bit of mechanical pencil lead for the (not very convincing) scuffing. 3 minutes ago, John Laidlaw said: This is the one with the Colourcoats colours, correct? Amazingly, I'm still not being paid for all the nice things I've said about them, so they're just going to have to let the model do the talking.

I'm also impressed with the canopy's clarity... mine tend to end up a little hazy at best, so these are lovely to see .
SoftScience
Lovely trio, and the weathering on Pat looks fantastic. I hope you continue the style on future builds, as it looks very realistic.
Stew Dapple
Those are three absolute beauties PC I have to agree the weathering (however you feel about it) does add something to the finished kit. Something good, I mean Cheers, Stew

stevehnz
Bravo Edward, well done in spite of the slings & arrows of outrageous house hunting. A very fitting way to begin the year, modelling wise. All the best on the home front. Steve.

CedB
Three lovely Spitfires PC - a great start to 2017. I think you should be pleased with those... great job Sir! I like the weathering - just right to my eye - and the exhausts and canopies look good too. Nice.
TheBaron
A totally tasty trio to tempt even the most jaded Spitfire observer. Well done. Tony

perdu
I've been Spitfired-out for many a year these days but something about your build and its ethos kept me aboard to enjoy it all along I'm glad I did You were braver than I weathering recklessly but have a very congratulatory wow from me for the finished job Lovely trio of heroes, thanks PC

mackem01
Thanks for a very entertaining and informative thread. You have three lovely builds to be proud of, but my vote........... ZX-6 wins it by a nose. Well done.
Bedders
That's a great trio Mr P, and it's been good to see them take shape. Most desert Spit models are finished with quite heavy weathering, but I really like the cleaner look you've left yours with. So of the three, that's my fave.
