The Other Tim's 1/72 Airfix Buccaneer S2B - 208 Sqn - Ex Northern Express, Norway

Recommended Posts

Tim thats a really good job ,I've taken my 1/72 bucc out of the box a few times to dry fit ,which i always do,  but the work that still needs to be done puts me off, fair play for beating the old kit into great shape, and like ss says,if tanmodel do come up trumps everything will be put on hold to build it,

I really like the winter distemper. If I ever get around to building a bucc. (C'mon Tanmodels!) I hope I can recreate the scheme you've achieved here. I really like this, a lot.

Yep looking forward to that release! the Red Flag Bucc scheme is cool too.

Decals on - changed the lower roundels to red/blue as that was what the refs showed - quite astonishing that the walkways etc and some others are likely 20+ years old, went on fine, next to seal them in and do the final detail painting, exhausts, lights etc....then a small bit of weathering (my take and refs show it just painted with distemper so would be quite clean I imagine), before a final matt coat and final assembly. Should be done on time.

  • 2 weeks later...

Slipper Tanks on, Pitot on, matt coat on with a lil bit of exhaust stain....not too much weathering for this one, just sprayed up for the Ex!

Final assembly of Ae's, lights etc and be ready for the gallery and my garage airborne collection!

Mostly done I think. In a rush as Im away for a week. Bit of a bashing into shape, but I like the scheme!

Not the best pics, will probably re-do when im back from my Kabul work trip.  Taken in the shade.

Gotta love a Banana! Bit of a pain of a kit, but it looks like a Buccaneer !

Thanks all who followed, helped and commented. Thanks to the admins again. Looking forward to the 60s build now!
