Lex77 Posted February 4, 2017 Posted February 4, 2017 (edited) Hi all, This will be my build for this GB. The Hasegawa F-104G in 1/48. Will be using DACO decals and some extra's. Edited June 3, 2017 by Lex77 3
modelling minion Posted February 4, 2017 Posted February 4, 2017 Nice choice Lex. And a great selection of aftermarket goodies and decals, I do like the camouflaged Belgian F-104's and I would like to see how the Daco decals perform. 1
Col. Posted February 4, 2017 Posted February 4, 2017 Another Starfighter with a tasty array of goodies to jazz it up and in a great scheme as well 1
mirageiv Posted February 5, 2017 Posted February 5, 2017 Lovely choice Lex, look forward to seeing the Belgium camo! David 1
RMP2 Posted February 12, 2017 Posted February 12, 2017 Looking forward to seeing how that masking set works out - I have a TF and the DACO Belgian decals here that Im quite keep to get on with. Cmon! Get it done! 1
Flyingdutchman Posted February 12, 2017 Posted February 12, 2017 Leuk Lex! Interesting pick and same goes for all the goodies, must make a wonderful F-104! Will be reading with interest. Evert 1
Lex77 Posted April 12, 2017 Author Posted April 12, 2017 Finally done with the F-16 so on with the F-104. Made a start with the cockpit. OOB except for some extra PE. 2
franky boy Posted April 13, 2017 Posted April 13, 2017 Good to see this one back in progress Lex. James 1
Lex77 Posted April 13, 2017 Author Posted April 13, 2017 Had a day off from work some made some good progress today; Next update after the weekend. 5
Jabba Posted April 13, 2017 Posted April 13, 2017 A solid start, and nice to see a F-104G in the markings of a different country rather than the usual ones. 1
mirageiv Posted April 14, 2017 Posted April 14, 2017 Wow Lex, excellent progress, the cockpit looks very well done. David 1
modelling minion Posted April 23, 2017 Posted April 23, 2017 Looking very much like an F-104 Lex, nice work and great progress. 1
Jabba Posted April 24, 2017 Posted April 24, 2017 Yep, certainly looking Starfighteryish, sharp and pointy. 1
Lex77 Posted April 30, 2017 Author Posted April 30, 2017 Got the Starfighter primered today. I'll try to do the underside tomorrow. 4
Lex77 Posted May 4, 2017 Author Posted May 4, 2017 Done some airbrushing and masking and did the last color today; But I was a little bit curious how it turned out and demasked a small part. There is almost no difference so I will have to redo at least one of the colors. I think the easiest way is to repaint the dark green color and make it a little darker. 1
Lex77 Posted May 5, 2017 Author Posted May 5, 2017 Second try on the darker green color and this time more luck. 3
franky boy Posted May 6, 2017 Posted May 6, 2017 Nice work Lex. Shame about the greens issue. What paints are you using? James 1
Lex77 Posted May 6, 2017 Author Posted May 6, 2017 Thanks James. I'm using Vallejo model air paints. Used 71.016 / 125 / 289 and 296 for this one. 2
Lex77 Posted May 6, 2017 Author Posted May 6, 2017 Did the unpacking today. Some small repairing to do but not too bad. And a close up in the sun; 8
modelling minion Posted May 6, 2017 Posted May 6, 2017 Great job Lex. She looks great in this scheme, may have to one myself in the future! 1
