Harrier GR3 1/48 resin conversion set

Uncle Uncool

Recommended Posts

Hi there, mates.

Me was wonderin' whether there's a resin conversion set for the AV-8A kit; tried purchasin' an Airfix GR3 kit in 'em local market, but me thinks that the bloke who's got the only kit published on 'em page is a tad loco for my taste...

The price he asks for 'em Airfix kit, I might as well buy an specialised conversion set, if there was one, that is.

Me hasn't taken the time to search 'em webz for it, but perhaps ya Brit mates know it by heart already?

Hope so; thank ye very much.

Cheers.

P.D: Anyone happens to have news 'bout Debz, or her e-mail addy? Thought I might talk her into comin' back on BM

By the way, are you a Pirate or somerthing?

Kind of; I was brought up in 'em Aussie boondocks by the Toecutter Gang. Unfortunately, the gang didn't make it to the followin' film of 'em saga. Lord Humungus would have killed me, anyways.

Hey, my Lord! :worthy: Howdy? Mate, ya still remember 'bout my sister, Astrid? :bleh: She's still single, y'know.

Whut 'bout 'em Missing Link Models conversion set? Can't seem to be able to find it anywhere. Top that off, me thinks Kits For Cash won't ship down to Buenos Aires.

Have Missing Link Models gone west?

Have you tried good old ebay for an Airfix gr 3 ?

Or wait till kinetic release a gr3 surely a model shop in  your homeland will stock that one. Nice to see Astrid again ,say Hi from me.

Hey, Lord! :worthy:

Yeh, me's tried evilBay already; $30 is a tad too much for the Airfix kit, methinks. Then again, me's also tried evilBay for the Missing Link bit to no avail.

Oughta wait 'til Kinetic released "they're" GR.3, but me needs a resin nose conversion ASAP to enter a group build down here, y'see?

Sis Astrid says Hi.

:hmmm:Mr Burns,

Me doesn't speak English on this forum; me TYPES in 'em language, aye?

Besides, there's 9 replies posted on 'em thread so far; how could people eva post 'em replies if they didn't dig whut me's goin' 'bout, me wonders?

My English so good as a second language, there's this 87-year-old Brit lady who lives upstairs from me, to whom I help with 'em Social Security red tape 'n' procedures every month. Guess whut? 'Em lady couldn't speak Spanish even if her life depended on it, yet she's able to complete her every errand thru' me.

Now, had we a sword fight me 'n' ye, me'd surely stick 'em sword right in yer impolite bottom, so be careful there. ;)

I have an 1/48 Airfix Harrier GR3 you can buy cheap. Will have to check postage though. PM if interested.

Thank ye so very much for the kind offer, Boman, mate! Sincerely.

Thing is, just the postage up from sweet Norway down here would be expensive enough for a kit I deem nay to be so good anyways. Top that off, owin' to 'em Customs local regulations, me'd have to pay half that price again (kit + shipping cost), the minute I fetched it out from Customs dept.

Cheers,

I've been googling missing link and there's a place called " lots of models " in USA that stocks the set you need but can't really tell if it's in stock. They've got a site on eBay China, Korea, Japan ? That might have it in stock but I can't read it so can't tell.

If I was you I'd give the group build a miss as the postage / customs is gonna cost you. You could post in the wanted section for a gr3 nose from an old kit but you've still got the shipping costs.

ASTRID RULES ! ! !

Hey, my Lord! :bye:

Thanks for the tip. Me's contacted 'em to no avail. Wish I could give the group build a miss, but me's already committed.

Since Heritage won't deliver to Argentina, the only thing me's got left to do is buy 'em Heritage GR.3 resin bit thru some Brit fella who would be kind as to do me a favour.

I'd pay ye in advance via PayPal, both for the resin bit + shipment to yer location 'n' then down to Buenos Aires.

If anyone is willin' to help, me's gonna be a lot thankful. Sometime I could return ye 'em favour if ya eva needed some Argentine decal sheet or sumthin'?

Cheers,

I would help you Uncle but I've looked on the heritage website and can't see the gr3 bits you want. It seems he's gone more into second hand kits and away from the conversion stuff. Can you post a link ?

Been googling and found the aviation megastore in Holland has the laser nose by heritage but it's a whopping €38 shipping to Argentina ! I'd forget it uncle.

Such a noooiiiceee fella ya are, my good mate. Thank ye very much; sincerely.

Yeh, the GR.3 bit was in 'em Heritage Conversions section of the Kits For Cash page, which is gonne now. Strange... :hmmm:Me swears it was there the day before yesterday.

Guess me will have to kiss 'em conversion good-bye... :crying: Aw, woe is me, aaawww... (real wanted to do 'em GR.3)

Lord, need nay to say, but ya eva need some Argie decals, reference books, whuteva, just whistle, ya hear?

Thanks so much for yer kindness, my mate.

Cheers,

Hey, Lord! :worthy:

Will surely check out those bands. Whut genre are 'em? Me's been caught up in Gothic Metal as of late; dunno why, I felt the urge to go 'n' listen to the old Tristania, Beseech, To/Die/For, HIM, Sengir, Within Temptation, Oratory, Therion, After Forever, Epica, Edenbridge, Lullacry and the old Nightwish stuff.

Attended 'em Black Sabbath gig last November here in Buenos Aires, 'n' after that I began listenin' to all of those glorious Heavy Metal bands circa the '80s; Kiss, among 'em, but Iron Maiden's always been me all-fave ones. :guitar: Remember when the daughter of Steve Harris came on tour down here; me was 15 'n' I got her a bikini so tiny as a gift - the sort of those 'em 'Zilian sheilas use to wear - that the girl blushed when 'em band told her that she ought to wear it in front of me as a token of gratitude. Hopelessly in luv; such a gorgeous-lookin' lass.

Today me fancies to listenin' to some Suicidal Tendencies!

About the GR.3 I have an Airfix kit that is destined to be a GR.1 so do you want the nose extension bit for your conversion. I may be able to help with other bits if you tell me what you need. Send me a PM.

G'day, Sleeper! :clap:Howdy, mate?

Yeh, Astrid's still single, 'n' me's afraid she'll stay on 'em shelf 'til the day she grows up. Kinda a nag when each 'n' every mate who comes home for 'em first time develops a sudden crush on the sis. 'N' the girl knows 'em effect she's got on blokes. Self-esteem just based on her looks instead of anythin' else, y'know; 'em day her looks wither that's 'em day she gets married, me guesses. Me tells her.

Hey! That's so kind of ye, my mate! Thanks a helluva lot, Sleeper! That's an awful help to me, me appreciates it.

Sendin' 'em PM right away; thank you!

Cheers, chaps.

  • 1 month later...

Me's gone down to 'em sixth page to retrieve this thread just to say that I've finally received 'em Doylz! :frantic:

Oh, that means me's gotten the stuff Nicky (Sleeper Service) has so generously sent me = a 1/48 Harrier LRMTS nose from an Airfix kit donor, all with 'em pitot tube 'n' cockpit decals. The package itself in which 'em Doylz came was a clever piece of modellin' engineerin', which shows Nick is such a top-bloke.

Thank ye a helluva lot, Nick! :worthy:

Anythin' ya need, mate, please just ask me, ya hear? Or if ya eva visit 'em Pampas, me's gonna be yer tourist guide; come along with yer wife, I'll do 'em shoppin', cookin', 'n' laundry for ye both.

Thank ye very much, my bruh; sincerely.

Cheers,

Glad you got this one sorted Uncle.

Perhaps some progress pictures or a link to your build ?i'd like to see some of your work.

What happened about the 1:48 Aeroclub Vulcan ? Did you get your hands on one ?

I'd like to see some of that VERY much .

Hey, me Lord! :worthy:

How's it goin', my good mate?

The Aeroclub Vulcan kit has been on hold for nearly a year. Realised that me's goin' to need quite a bigger lair if I want to lie down on my bed with the kit bein' in the same room with me.

Nay, really. I discovered that the kit could well use a whole lota ribbin' work inside 'em wings for both strength 'n' stability, especially, when the main landin' gear legs are put in place. I'm scratchbuildin' the whole cockpit. Thought I might as well detail the bombardier station, for which me needs to gather more reference; here:

Bomb%20Aim%20Window_zps8sqygbso.jpg

Lotsa tiny things inside in such a reduced space! For instance; d'ya happen to know whut those two tubes in front of the window are? :hmmm:Some sorta heatin' device, perhaps?

Still waitin' on my Aerofax, Tim McLelland's, Robbie Jackson's 'n' Andrew Brooke's books for reference, but me's plannin' to make the honours on that kit.

As for 'em Harrier GR.3, still haven't made up me mind on which aircraft I'm gonna build - just that it's gonna be a Corporate bird.

Will start a build thread as soon as I start hackin' plastic away.

Cheers, Lord.
