Homebee
Source: https://www.specialhobby.net/2021/12/formy-pro-pripravovane-modely-v-nasi.html Quote Naše nástrojárna připravuje k lisování mimo jiné i formu drobných dílů modelu SH72457 Bugatti 100 1/72, formu čirých dílů pro SH48160 Baltimore 1/48, ta se bude samozřejmě leštit. Googled: Our tool shop is preparing for test injection, among other things, (...) the clear parts mould for the SH48160 Baltimore 1/48, which will of course be polished. Scimitar F1
This would be fantastic to see. I remember building the Novo boxing of the Frog kit in around 1979!

Caerbannog
Hmm... maybe time to let my Classic Airframes Baltimore go? So undecided 🙂
Scimitar F1
Good to see both the Martin and Boulton Paul turrets. Those transparencies look very clear. That significantly expands to possible options.

So undecided 🙂 I am thinking the exact same thing. If it were Trumpy I would never let it go but now - maybe. But building it would be a good choice. Positive bonus is we might see more decal options and after market stuff pop up now. I have been waiting for them to re-release the Maryland and was going to build them together. Scimitar F1
When I saw this originally I assumed that it was a Classic Airframes rebox as they have done with other CA kits so pleased to see this is new tool. Hopefully they will not make the same error with the cowlings and iirc the intakes. Will
tonyot
Excellent,.... I hope that they get the fuselage shape right and narrower than the old Classic Airframes kit. Looking forward to this one,...... hope I last out long enough!! Cheers Tony
Homebee
Good piece of news. It's definitely a new tool kit, main fuselage sprue is different from the Classic Airframes kit. RichG
Wow! How did this news escape me? Always hoped Airfix might have a nibble at this as one of their occasional "out of left field" releases... but I am more than happy Special Hobby are showing the Baltimore some love and attention. I was just fondling the sprues from their 1/72 Meteor NF.11 and admiring the finesse of its surface detailing. If this standard and those transparency images are anything to go by this should be special indeed. I have a particular interest in the type as my late father served as a Wireless Operator / Air Gunner in B Flight, 203 Squadron when equipped with Baltimores. The squadron seemed to be mainly tasked with convoy escort across the Mediterranean and reconnaissance over the Greek islands. Didn't stop them having the occasional pop at the enemy - I recall seeing gun camera photos of German shipping being shot-up in various harbours (presumably holiday destinations these days). My father's log book has a particularly interesting entry "10.9.43 Photo Recce. DNCO (Did Not Complete Op) attacked by JU88 off Zante". 😎 Despite my intention to resist new kit acquisitions this year and focus on stash reduction - it looks like this might well have to be the exception! Christer A
They're taking their sweet time cutting the molds for this one, aren't they? Still, I like what I see and I do have a well stocked stash in the meantime
