Master box Mk 1 male tank colours

Whilst there would probably have been a 'correct' colour in 1916 -18 what that exact colour was is not now known with any certainty.  It is generally accepted by experts such as David Fletcher that once the multi colour Solomon camo was discontinued  it became an overall  brown or brownish colour. But there is no known record of an  official specification laying down the precise shade of brown. I'm afraid that you're looking for the holy grail of WW! tank modelling.

I use Tamiya not Humbrol so can't help with a suggested mix but having spent many hours on the web and in books when looking for this elusive colour to complete my Takom Mark IVs, what I use for for WW1 'tank Brown' is  a 50;50 mix of XF55 and XF52.
