Nick Filippone
Greetings from across the pond. Does anyone have or can anyone suggest a source for a 3-view or plans for the Handley Page HP 43? This, as you probably know, is a 3 engined bi-plane bomber derived from an unbuilt 3 engined variant of the HP 42 airliner. I have pictures in the books in my library, but none of my sources feature drawings? Might there be archives at the R.A.F. Museum where these would be available? Thank you. malpaso
Nick, There is a small 3-view of the HP43 in the Putnam history of the firm - "Handley Page Aircraft since 1907" by C.H.Barnes. Cheers Will
Nick Filippone
Boy! Do I feel stupid! I have this book, of course. But, carelessly, when I consulted it, I started at the drawing of the HP 42, and went forward. As you observed, this drawing is a few pages BEFORE that. Thank you. Regards, Nick.
Work In Progress
Well, thank you for introducing me to a new type. I am very familiar with the HP.42 and Harrow but didn't know the 43 at all. Just googled it and it's a perfect combination of Harrow and HP.42 design features!

As you may have suspected, my goal is to convert the HP 42 to the HP 43. It doesn't look too difficult. Just a new fuselage, new empennage, one less engine and an upper wing that is shorter, narrower in chord and with a longer flat center section. All these wing modifications ideally need to be done while preserving the excellent fabric detail of the kit! But it will look neat when done. I can't start it until I have finished my current conversion project: an AZ Models 1/144 scale Fokker F7 - aka Avro 10- into an Avro 642- 2m. Work In Progress
It will be a decent chunk of kit-bashing with a side-order of scratch building but very do-able I'm sure. Look forward to a thread on it when you get going.
Graham Boak
I suggest warming up to this by doing the HP51 first.
