Still waiting the Aermacchi MB339 rebox...

If you want one, I have one spare - yours for the cost of postage (note: I'm in Australia). PM me your address if interested.

Thanks Dave.

I have one in my stash but I´m waiting to see what Italeri will do.

I expect a rerelease though it would be not too surprising if Italeri downscaled their 1:32 Starfighter. They used to downscaled a lot of kits which were initialy released in 1:48 to 1:72. So why not?

Because it will be easier and cheaper to use existing molds I guess...

Just a thought... If I were a major kit producer in the EU (and unlike Italeri without existing CAD) I would contact Daco for his improvement set and design some new sprues for the remaining parts (usually the Hasegawa kit). Sounds like an easy way to a proper F-104 family in 1:48 and will be much cheaper than the Hasegawa kit plus the improvement parts.

You're right. I somehow always thought it was a repop of Hawk/Testors kit, but it really is original ESCI. I was under that impression ever since I built it in late 80s.

Anyway, apart from shape which is in general OK, it has crude detail and inaccurate canopy framing. It is a product of its time (late 70s).

Hasegawa kit is very nice, covers more or less all versions, and nearly perfect, apart from heavy rivets on wings, tail and empennage (all fixable, either by filling or replacing with parts from the excellent DACO upgrade set). Still, it is good to have more choice in the market, so hopefully, Italeri will release a new tool F-104.

It is interesting that no F-104 kits have been produced by Chinese manufacturers yet (although I am sure they will cover the entire family eventually).

Well Italeri being Italeri they could surprise you with a esci mould they done that several times with other kits.

The Dakota is in their assortment as the Esci kit  Dakota IV and their own mould, kit 127 for instance....
