Guest
I'd be tempted, but Hannants are asking 40 notes. Had away and bollards!
AMB
Seems bizarre that only two foreign DH87A ( pointed wingtips) variants are offered , when this is a British classic of which several DH87B (with square wingtips) variants are still flying in the UK, as well as a handful overseas. Bring the price down, change the wings to a DH87B and include some British Civil decals for one that's still around and I'll be there!
LN-KEH
Dekno and the man behind it is Spanish, so the second one is definitely not a foreign colour scheme. It is hard to find documentation on interesting pointy wing Hornet Moths - if you have some, contact Dekno. Square wing versions are planned, including the Danish machine used by Thomas Christian Sneum for the flight that inspired Ken Follett to write the "Hornet Flight" novel https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hornet_Flight

Scratchbuilder
Not for me....too small these days. Hence my 1/43rd scale scratchbuild. It would be 1/32nd at least if I had the space to display. Martin
Ed Russell
Piffling little 1/32 stuff? The real man's scale is 1/18 or 1/12...!!!! (:>) but, as you know, I have been following your build and it's looking very good!

Scratchbuilder
You have more chance of seeing my name on the ownership papers of a real DH87B than me make anything in 1/18th by choice. What a stupid scale. 1/43rd is daft enough, but there are so many nice cars to put with a 'plane in that scale and I've made a lot of them as masters, so I'm kind of stuck with them. 1/12th is, of course, the king of scales, but a bit big. 32nd is good because once again there a lot of nice slot cars that can be built as static models to go with aircraft. Cheers, Martin
Meatbox8
Wow. I'd really like Ariadne, but not at £40.

Scratchbuilder
Of course you can scratchbuild cheaper! It's only a question of whether you want to or not and whether you can get the scale you want. I want 1/43rd scale, so I have to scratchbuild. So far it's cost me half a sheet of 10 thou styrene. The rest was given to me as offcuts. As to quality, well somebody had to scratchbuild the master of the kit, so that's not in question. But I do, as an ex-producer of resin model kits, albeit cars and motorbikes, I appreciate how the costs mount up, not to mention the frustrations with suppliers, etc. Martin

I'm sure it is but, much as I would like a kit of the type, I personally would not part with £40 for it when I can get, say, a Revell Shackleton for ten quid less. It's all about my own personal economics and I'm sure I'm not alone in letting this one go because of the price. As for scratch building, I simply don't have the skills. That's why I buy kits. Scratchbuilder
And I know the owner of G-ADMT and he would not want a silly scale that nothing else compared with. 1/16th, maybe, then it would match the model I made his friend of his Fairchild 24. I could scratch him a model, but NOT to 1/18th! Martin
TonyTiger66
I'm really glad that Dekno made this kit. I bought it directly from their website. I really don't have the ability to scratch build something like this and I've been wanting one for years, so thank you very much Dekno. It's a tiny, exquisite, fine model. It has some nice touches too, like the quite ingenious chrome window surrounds (1/72). I'm really pleased by this model, I don't think it's expensive for anyone that really wants a model kit of one of these quite connoisseur/specialist knowledge/desire aircraft . It's nothing like a well known aircraft in 2017; not one which will sell kits by the tens of thousands. Yet Dekno give us a beautifully crafted fine model! Thank you messrs Dekno in Barcelona. Please could you produce a Puss Moth next? No one else will and we know why it's important . Best regards TonyT
