Not going for the black basing or any type of pre-shade as the paint job was relatively short lived. The painting instructions are a bit hard to fathom, the upper and lower patterns do not seem to match the sides if you know what I mean! Doing option 2. Tim Moff Posted March 15, 2017 Author Share Posted March 15, 2017 After all the painstaking masking I decided to tear it all off to freehand, using the picture references rather than the decal ones that seemed confusing regarding the cam pattern! I have found quite a few times with different schemes that the side view don't match up with the upper (or undersides) side. Nothing like a 'Boil in the Bag' MRE styley breakfast! Photo Buckets does have it's days, just give it some time I've paid the extra $3 a month over the free version and that seemed to help a lot of issues I'd had in the past. Kit: 1/48 Academy General Dynamics F16A/C Subject: F/A16C - part of the experiment to possibly replace the A10A in the CAS role. F16C - Block 25 83-1129 from 422nd TES based at Nellis AFB late 1980s. Details: Modelled as per reference pics from interweb and decal sheet, armed with the GAU - 13/A gun pod, 2 x Mavericks.
