Tamiya 1/24th Honda S600

Moaning Chaps & Chapesses :bye:

Another one I started last year that's now finished....

This really is a fantastic little kit. The usual Tamiya quality makes it a very enjoyable build...

That is, until I got to fitting the chassis frame.... I don't know what I did, but I could not get the frame to fit properly and the ensuing battle the engine was sacrificed to the gods and after that it fit... Looking at it afterwards I suspect it was the gearbox that was the trouble maker.

Why put the top up on a convertible? Well I just think it looks nicer :)

Edit - Sorry, Its finished it Tamiya TS 26 Pure White, TS 6 Flat Black for the cover and the windscreen surround and chrome piping done in Bare Metal Foil.

Still want to give it a bit of a cleanup, but essentially its done :)

Thanks

I have often nearly bought this one, but for some reason never did. This may change my mind...

Cheers, Alan.

Very nice Steve, you've done a cracking job on your model. A pretty little sportscar, and a model I will be purchasing at some point this year having seen your work - well done!! :Tasty:

Any more photos from different angles available by any chance? :coolio:

Nice one, Steve.

Memory says that the engines on these

were basically motorbike engines and

they had needle roller main bearings.

Hiya Pete :bye:

Yeah you are right, The 600cc engine was developed from Honda's experience with bike engines and it even had a Chain final drive, one on each rear wheel :)

Excellent clean build. You have done a great job on the trim lines. Tamiya wipers look detailed. I will be posting soon my completed Fujimi Honda S800. I wish i could help you with decals. I have ruined nearly 2 decals from the set.

Happy Modelling,

Rishi.
