Nissan GTR Trio - Has become a quartet!

Evening all,

Just a minor update.
I have made a tiny amount of progress on the last two of the cars in the list.

This is the R35. I smoothed the primer with 2500 grid wet 'n' Dry and it's ready for the top coat. 

 

 

This is the 2000 GTR. Primed and smoothed.

 

That's all for the moment. I hope to get some more done this week, assuming that I'm not too tired after a day's work!

Tiny progress is progress, and priming and smoothing is definitely not 'tiny progress'. Looks good so far, I'm particularly looking forward to seeing what you make of the 2000GTR - it's a good kit so have fun with it.

Evening all,

Some more progress on these last two in the group. 

Not may pictures, but some degree of progress, nonetheless.

 

So, here we go:

This is Zero Paints Bright Red. (Similar to Tamiya X-7). This is after I corrected the roughness of the paint on the roof.

 

Another image of the body and floor=pan. The floor-pan has had a couple of more coats to cover up missed bits during the last paint session.

And another shot, showing the bonnet.

 

 

This is the R35 painted in a black base-coat. The final colour is 'Midnight Blue'. A top coat has to go over the black.

Hello All,

Some updates on this. Not a lot, but here we are:

All the drive train added. This kit like some other Aoshima car kits has a sort of working suspension. A bit of a gimmick, which adds a minor complication to the assembly process.

From the side. Looks pretty good here.

 

The next stage is to get the final colour on the body and get the cockpit completed.

 

The wheels are on now, but sorry, no pictures.

Might not be a lot of progress, but it is some progress which is always good.

 

I don't know how you cope with so many kits on the go at once though - one is about all my attention can cope with (apart from various bodies which get sprayed when the weather is right).

Hi Spiny,

To be honest, I'm not sure how I cope either. I sometimes wonder whether it wouldn't be easier just to concentrate on one model at a time.

The problem is that my time at the bench is usually quite precious (and short!), so, while some part of one model is either setting after cementing or drying after some painting, I use the time progress another model along.

Also, I get bored easily, so I like to mix and match so to speak, in order to keep my interest going.

That's how I am currently working on three or four models at a time at the moment.
