Blastvader
This year, as all other before it when modelling is the topic at hand, has seen a dearth of completed builds. Last year the sum total was, I think, two. So despite my measly total, a 50% increase in productivity is really nothing to the scoffed at eh? Anyway, without further ado I present to thee and thine; BV's Spectacularly Special and In No Way Modest Triple! First up in this (well, last now, but you now what I mean) year's completions was this Hobby Boss Ju-88C-6 in 1/72. Ypou can read all about it here should you e so inclined. But the less said the better as far as I'm concerned. Then there was a loooooong gap filleed with broken promeses and procrastination wherein nothing was a chieved (aprt from a picquant little dash of self loathing being added to the srap of dry, crusty break that is my psyche). During this period I has pulled the following off of the shelf in hope of resurrecting the build after a rather significant piece had been lost to the aether/carpet monster/Plastic Jesus several years ago. I decided to cast a new part in milliput, finish off the dark grey bits (all parts in the off-white having been painted several years ago) and get something ballywell done! So here we have Bandai's BB-Senshi SD Zaku II in a White-Orgre-ish scheme. Last for the year was Bandai's little box-scale SD. Mine, unlike every other one I've seen built, actually didn't go together all that well resulting in some nasty seams which many, many coats of Mr. Surfacer 500 did nothing to. So, thought I, buggrit let's get some paint on. Decided not to do any aztecting and take the colour up to almost pure white for scale reasons. Will likely get another to do a better job on (lighter wash, neutral grey was still too dark, and a smoother paint job). Just for fun: Happy New Year to you all, may Plastic Jesus guide your scalpel!
